Not the 17 Fireball or the 17HMR ....

I recently purchased a classic Remington 700 BDL in 17 Remington this past summer. The rifle is a 70's vintage and I've fitted it with a Sightron SII 3 x 12 x 42 w/ AO scope. It has been zeroed at 100 yds. and can it shoot the nads of flies. ... Now I want to tool up with it on my RCBS loader.

Anyone have a load recipe for a 17 Remington?

I guess this can also fall into the Reloader Talk arena so if moved I understand. ...

Yes, good data here. Thanks for posting the links. I was looking at the Accurate powder and it will be in my 1st recipe for a load. ... Will need to pick up some 7.5 primers. ... Those 25 grain Hornady bullets sure are small!

The 17 has a pretty audible report but recoil is very comfortable. I'm looking forward to getting setup.

Thanks admins for moving this topic over into the "Reloading" arena. Much appreciated.

You'll also need a .17cal. funnel and if you don't already have one a .17cal cleaning rod. I had a remington 700 in a .17 fireball. Had alot of fun with it, but anything over 150 yards on a light windy day I had to adjust my shots. Think I still have a few 20g and 25g v-max's if you want to see what your gun may or may not like before buying a big box.

....and you'll get good at cleaning the bore since the accuracy starts going south after 20 shots or so. Also one rifle I heard of would not shoot until the bullets were off the lands about 0.050. which may help if your's decides to not shoot.
