The new Sig needed some leather. Been carrying it in a kydex paddle that was returned a while back. Nice enough but I wanted some leather too. Finally have a gun that will look good in brown.

Pocket set. Right, back pocket carry so the hook is on the slide side. Mag sheath to keep the grime out.

Wow...I really like that.....I might need something like that for my workhorse Ruger Alaskan. The kid ex is okay. ....but this gun deserves some leather too.
You know where to find me. I now have a S&W N frame dummy. So maybe I can get my pattern closer this time. If you wanted an avenger I would need some lead time to work out a few things. It's more of a 2 step process. The belt loop on the back has to be stitched and ready before I can mold it. With the pancake I can just cut and mold.

Been using the new leather IWB holster you made for my FNS9C fr EDC. Schweet. Liking it a lot.
I go to the Y every morning. The single clip IWB makes it easy to safely move the holstered pistol to my coat pocket while I'm in the Y (Not a gun free zone but don't want inadvertent attention while changing.)
Thanks for the awesomeness :)

I have the same issue fishgutzy. My preferred holster is OWB but the locker room conditions have to be just right before you start changing to avoid drawing unwanted attention.

Which brings me to a question I've been wanting to ask you, chiefjason... would it be possible to turn the IWB clips around and use them on an OWB application? Basically, to replace the belt loops on an OWB pancake holster with inward-facing clips so that the holster could come on and off without running the belt through it.

It's called a Rhodesian holster, in the single clip version. They kind of suck, IMO. I built one for my G19. It works, but the clip is tough to get off the belt from the back side, and it's looser on the side than a pancake. IMO, paddle is the way to go. Unfortunately I can't seem to source paddles cheap enough to make it worth doing. They run my price up much higher than some of the big boys. A good paddle runs me $10. Which means I have to add that material cost on top of what I charge for a holster. I don't really trust the leather only paddles enough to make and sell them. Prefer the molded ones.

Hey Jason, is it possible to add Leather to the Kydex holster I already have for the alaskan? That might be the ticket....but that new holster looks SO nice!!!!
I don't have the leather needed to line. And it really needs to be done before the kydex is mounted.

Is that suede lining in the first pic?
If so, you're my hero.
No, just dyed black. The natural looked like it would stand out too much in my pocket. IMO, soft linings are not that good of an idea. They can collect junk worse than a good leather interior. If I was to line something, I would just line it with a lighter leather grain side to the gun. Holster is smooth inside and out that way. It's quite a hassle though.

Thanks Chief.
I know I'm kinda old school with the suede lining thing, but I really like it. I'm an owb guy and I've never experienced any debris issues inside other than some sweater fuzz. If I was exposed to dirty environments constantly then yeah, something would have to change.
I spoke with Roy Hunnington at American Handgunner about it and he agrees with you. He also mentioned how in the old days his lined holsters would eventually start to wear out the lining, but he admitted it usually took several thousand draw cycles to do that with a quality rig and by then he was ready for a new/different holster anyway.
