I have been thinking about joining the CHARLOTTE RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB and was wondering if anyone here is a member and if this is the best club to join in the Charlotte area.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I am sure there are many more that I just can't remember or don't know about. Someone else fill in the blanks.

Great facilities for all shooting disciplines.

Thanks for the information. Excuse my ignorance but this would be the first shooting club I've joined. Do you pay your annual dues and use the target ranges with no other fees? I've looked at the web site but it's not real clear to me.

Also on a normal weekend excluding events/training is it real crowded?

I've yet to see it too crowded. Great place and I've met some great people! I think it's some of the best money I've spent this year.

Once your dues are paid you are covered for the rest of the membership year.....excluding the Shotgun Range.
Thanks Wahoo95, I'm sold. I'll start the process today. Looking forward to it. Sick of the local gun shop/indoor shooting ranges and it will be nice to have access to an outdoor range to shoot my rifles.

I'm a member too, what I liked best was the slow membership process. When you go to the range you may not know the guy/girl next to you but you know they've been checked out for safe handling of firearms by means of supervised shooting. No idiots playing gangster with rented guns that I've see at public ranges. Great ranges, professionally run and well worth the money!

Great point.. I agree 100%.

I've visited the shotgun range which is open to the public on three occasions. The facility is first class and prices are market. They have trap, skeet, and 5-stand. I will go back.

My only criticism is that some of the members seemed unnecessarily unfriendly to the non-member shooters. I noticed this on all three of my visits and have heard of the same observation from others who have visited. I wonder if there is resentment on the part of the members that the shotgun range is open to the public.
