I bought a "Hawk" from them several weeks ago, before all this stuff hit the fan. They had it on special for $179. I got the one with the shielded ghost ring sights, and think I got a bargain. It's as smooth an action as you would want, feeds fine, easy to load or unload, and shoots like a shotgun should. It feels a bit heavier than I would expect it to be, but then, it's Chinese! Yes, I would have rather had an American built gun, and would have paid a bit more to get one. Problem is, the American guns I found were $70 and more higher in price.

As far as CTD jacking up prices, just compare them with other online stores. If you find what you're looking for cheaper somewhere else, why would you consider them in the first place? Prices on shooting supplies and especially modern sporting rifles has more than doubled since the hoopla in Connecticut. It's gonna go higher still. Be thankful you can still order ANYTHING online! That may be a thing of the past soon too!

I recently purchased a M590A1 Mariner from CTD. I'm pretty sure it was a used or returned/exchanged firearm, had damage and scratches all over the Marinecote finish. Of course they refused to exchange or refund it, had to deal with Mossberg directly. Fortunately they did me right and replaced the barrel, receiver and all the action and bolt parts with new and with a 10 day turn around which surprised me considering all the bad stories of Mossberg customer service. So no more buying from CTD for me.

you guys are funny, i have no problems buying from them...or anyone else that jacked prices.....supply and demand dictate price...if you don't like it, don't pay it...simple as that.
I recall someone here saying that CTD recalled shipments of ammo that were on their way out after once the hysteria started, and in some cases, refused to refund the original purchasers. They wanted their ammo back so they could jack the price up and sell it again. If the member is still here, perhaps they can shed some light on it.

I wouldn't buy from those low-down cheating scoundrels if they were the only company selling guns left on earth.

as for the shotgun...haven't tried it, but I've picked up a few "cheap" ones lately: Stevens 0250, H&R Pardner, Mossie 500....there's enough out there now that are proven, to not really have to go out on a limb with an unknown brand before there's good feedback for them.
My issue with CTD isn't their prices, but rather their public support for Manchin-Toomey.

Jesus God A'Mighty, what a bunch of sandy vaginas we have in here. Some of you need to take a step back and evaluate the amount of whining you're doing. Maybe write a letter to yourself objectively explaining why you think that your bitching about Cheaper Than Dirt is substantially different from Moms Demand Action boycotting Target.

The Hawk shotguns are just fine. I picked one up from Cheaper Than Dirt on Cyber Monday for $125, ghost ring sights, free shipping, and I think that was a bargain. At $199 it's still an okay deal, but you can probably find something a little bit better for that kind of money, or put a little more money towards it and find something substantially better. The one hiccup I found is that the shell retainer for the magazine tube is stiff, so it might take a little muscle to get rounds into the tube for the first little bit, but it will break in with time.

Pardner Pump is made by Hawke and both are a Chinese Import, just one through H&R, so they are the same firearm. Pretty solid 870 clone, some parts will even interchange, but it is hit or miss. Trigger plate assembly will not, so saddle mounts made for an 870 will not fit.

Not true. I have an 870 side saddle on my Pardner pump. The only 870 part that won't fit the Pardner is the barrel.

I will never ever buy from Cheaper Than Dirt again. Ever.

After I saw what they did trying to profit from murdered children they lost my business forever. I wish everyone would quit buying from them.

pretty sure MOST companies tried to "profit from murdered children" as did the entire used gun and accessory market. If you, or anyone else, sold something with a higher price than what you think is "normal" you're no better than them. But, again, that's how free markets work and it's not like you HAVE to have a gun or ammunition to survive....so if you don't want to pay the price, don't. I feel like prices are still too high, so I just quite shooting and sold off items that are/were bringing higher prices during the scare. The more time i spend NOT shooting, the more money I have for fishing gear

Agreed. CTD was particularly egregious in their policy but it is what it is. They haven't been cheaper than dirt for a long time now anyhow...
