To start with, I hate when people dont live up to their word, break deals, or generally act dishonest. I pray our negative feedback threads always stay low, and would love for them to be zero.

With that said, I do get some weird enjoyment out of reading the negative feedback posts. Generally the stories are pitiful, irritating, and at times, amusing as to why people welch on deals. I hate someone else has to deal with it, but I enjoy hearing the stories. One reason I get a kick out of them, is I see it as a nice forum enema every time someone is outed for dishonesty or not manning up.

So here are my questions.

What is your most irritating "Forum Fail" where you were jerked over so bad, you just get hot thinking about it?:cursing:

What is your most comical BST transaction? Missed calls, wrong place, general things that you just recall and think are funny.:001_tt2:

Finally, what is an example of a BST transaction that has turned into a good shooting buddy?:001_tt1:

I ask all three because I dont want the thread to be a debbie downer. I honestly am tickled that out of the hundreds of transactions that take place such a small percentage work out poorly. So lets here the stories!

Honestly, I think you need a hobby....

No you werent. You were looking for an excuse to troll and look witty. You took one line out of my whole post and decided to run with it because you wanted to be funny, show people how witty you are, and ultimately add nothing to any discussion that could have come of this or any funny stories we may have all shared.

You're right....I should have never even opened this thread....

I haven't had real negative experiences, just annoyances. It drives me nutty when we have all but a done-deal and the perspective buyer/trader says, "oh, I didn't realize _____ until I read your ad again." Really? You didn't read the ad in its entirety? I am a live and let live kind of guy, and this annoys the hell out of me, but I wouldn't, like, hunt them down or banish them or anything.

Of all the transactions made through this forum, I am happy to say that so far I have had no real negative outcomes to any. I have met a lot of great people through this forum that share the love of firearms, shooting sports, candid political discussion and freedom as I do.

I've had a few that at least got my blood pressure to move for a few seconds.
Only left negative feedback once and that was for a "I'll come get it next week" deal where the buyer dropped off the face of the earth for a month.

agreed on deal that wasn't completed because the buyer got a speeding ticket
Buy offer made over the phone and then retracted when I tried to take it.
PM'd offer that turned into "I'll have to check with my (female counterpart)"

the part of the BST process that actually irks me most is the extreme lowball offers I get for anything I try to sell.

I have never had negative feedback, BUT I ALMOST did for advertising an unknowingly counterfeit aim point and magnifier combo.... man that turned into a disaster, it was right when I joined up- so not a good first impression, but I think I've main up for it since then.
I've probably made 100+ transactions here- all of them were good.
there has been 1 occasion where I met a guy to buy something and we shot the breeze for 30 minutes and I totally forgot to pay him- I chased him down to give him his money. I also forgot to get money once, but they met me later that evening to pay.

The only thing that I've really ever got upset with is twice I've committed to buy an item, and then the seller backed out because they had a better offer. I've sold lots of things for cheaper than I was offered after I made an agreement.... funny how some people's integrity can literally be bought by a few bucks when they make you a deal and back out.

people on this forum are great for the most part- now I'm in alabama and I've got to ship everything (which requires a little more faith in ME from the buyer), but I feel like the fact that I've been around couple years and have got to meet, buy and sell with so many people here helps people ease their minds a little.

Comical BST transaction?

On Arfcom, I had the owner of some Winston area gun shop PM me, based upon what I was selling he convinced himself and accused me of being part of some conspiracy group that was out to ruin his business. I had never heard of his shop before nor have I ever been up to WS. Pretty crazy!

As we desperately try to get this thread back on track after the train wreck start...

I bought a belt from a guy up in Boone. The address I told him to send it to was a transposed mix of mine and my inlaws addresses. The number is only one off and the street name is almost identical, which incidentally is the same street as my mom's. I must have been tired(Doh). According to tracking it bounced around the neighborhood for about 3weeks before it made it's way back to the sender in Boone. He got it yesterday and put it back in the mail with the corrected address. I got it today. One day if it's right, three weeks if it's not.

I am glad the thread is back on track after its trolltastic start. These are some good stories, and most are a testament to the quality of members in the shooting community.

My experience has all been positive as well with most deals leading to long discussions and some good times and good shooting buds or coffee friends. On more than one occasion my wife has called or texted me to make sure I was ok after being gone for longer than expected.
