FULL CSC member only Gun Fighter class 16 June 2012
CSC members,
I am going to hold a CSC members only Gun Fighter class this course on 16 June 2012 will be a 9 hour day of training. We will have three tiers of student groups they are:

Time: 0800 sharp to 1700 (5pm) 9 hours of training
Outline:
This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with a semi-auto carbine rifle and semi-auto pistol. The student will exercise life saving skills in a variety of shooting situations. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with the carbine and pistol in use in self-defense / competition situations. The following topics for both firearm systems will be discussed in depth during the course:
Requirements
This course will be a short range class, all with in 50yds due to the limited use of the ranges at DPRC. If any ranges open up between now and the class date I will try to add them to the list for us to use. Due to a Service Rifle match ongoing at the 300yd range we will not be able to use that range unless the match gets canceled.
I will need you to come to the training with rifle ZERO'ed at 25yds irons, and 50yds reflex type optic. This course will be limited to 24 students. We will break students down into squads no larger than 8 per squad. This will allow you to have some down time for reloading mag's, drink water and take a break during the training. No matter the weather, we will train!!!!!

- Fundamentals of shooting
- Malfunctions
- Speed shooting
- Failure to neutralize
- Multiple targets
- Shooting positions: Prone, urban prone, sling supported sitting, kneeling, standing (ready up drills and reflex)
- Shooting on the move
- Shooting behind cover
- Smooth transition from carbine to pistol
Requirements
- ZEROED before the class: A rifle iron sights ZEROED at 25yds, optics @ 50yds
- Ammunition Requirements: 300 rounds of carbine ammunition, 300rnds of pistol
- Optional ammunition: 200rnds of 22lr rimfire pistol and rifle + 100rnds center fire pistol and rifle
- Minimum Gear List: Gun belt / web gear to support both systems with magazine holder for your carbine and pistol magazines wrap-around eye protection, ear protection, water bottle and rain gear, one carbine rifle, three carbine & pistol magazines, 2 point sling ONLY, five rifle / pistol dummy / snap caps, rain gear, water bottle, weapons cleaning kit.
- Optional gear list: 22lr conversion for the Ar-15 rifle or stand-alone Ar-15 22lr rifle setup like the centerfire rifle, and / or a 22lr semi-auto pistol that functions correctly.
