does anyone else get the gun nut comments @ work? I always here the hey man if you even loose it and shoot up the place can you give me a warning......i also get the if shtf im coming to ur house comments.. At 1st its was funny haha but now its annoying. Im not that kind of guy i have 4 kids dont give the militia type vibe to anyone....i was in the navy and alot of guys in my shop know that. I was just wonderin..I dont bring guns to work i do read shotgun news when were not busy and ive told the guys about past purchases.

Well, a long while back, yes.

To those that called me a "gun nut" my habit was to look at them with a deadpan expression. After a pause say " If I am mentally unstable, do you think its a good idea to taunt me?"

I like being labeled gun nut, better than being a stuffed shirt libtard any day. I get the give me a warning if i go postal but not the others you mentioned.

I have always tried to keep my gun ownership etc low key. That being said, over the years, it has gotten around that I carry and my employees know that I am OK with them carrying as long as they have a permit. We also have shoots at the landfill and let any of the employees come out that want to.
I have never gotten the postal comments or gun nut comments (at least not to my face) and I think part of that is having open dialect about the responsibilities of gun ownership and carrying.
Only close friends and family know that I am prepping with other supplies, because they are as well so I don't think anyone else is planning to come to my house if SHTF.

I get the "coming to my house" a lot....doesn't really bother me, but I've divided up my collection into 3 independent locations (had that as a plan anyway), and developed a scattered, smothered, and covered, plan.
My parents, offspring, and siblings, already know that I have them covered if they need/want firepower. All of my children have a handgun and shotgun waiting on them as soon as they get their CCP and spend some range time with me.

I get it all the time. There's a couple of guys I work with that are always asking how how they are on my "list" and competing to get higher that one another lol.

However the ND I had with my 12ga a while back while probably never be lived down. It seriously gets brought up at least once a day, at first it was like ya iIunderstand Im an idiot I know, but now its getting to the point of pissing me off, and they all find it hysterical. None of them are gun owners and dont seem to understand the concept of learning from your mistakes and moving on. Ya I made a major mistake and I learned my lesson, but JC let it go already.

Where I work (pt) we get to shoot almost everyday, and most guys (gals included) have small but decent collections. Some people think others are "nutty" by collecting a certain type of firearm (or repeats of a firearm) but I think it comes acorss as jealousy.:001_tongue:

As far as somone coming over to the house if shtf I don't have to worry about that I can't afford to do all the preppin' anyway so if shtf guess I'll starve with my weapons in my hands lol

I get the "I'm coming to your house" comment alot, but that's about it. I do get asked alot, "Why do you need so many guns?" I just tell them, I only need one, the rest are for people like you asking too many questions. :8:

A couple coworkers know I carry concealed, and a luckily a lot of the people I encounter (hvac contractors) all think like I do about guns.... if we won the lottery, 75% of it would go to increasing the arsenal.

I do not tell people except for family, and surprisingly it is the inlaws who particpate, that we stock provisions and said inlaws house is capable of sustaining and operating should everything go off grid. Not paranoid, just prepared and hoping we are wrong.
