Looks like the druggie might have fallen down a coupla times on the way to the lockup.

 

He looked to get it pretty bad as they were trying to get him cuffed.

 

It would not have been excessive force to punch him in the face as long as he was holding her. Let go! punch, Let go! punch, repeat as necessary.

 

Little surprised they went that easy on him. Taser guy seemed to get tunnel vision that the taser was the only answer. Should have stomped him into the pavement until he went out at that point. I'm guessing a couple kicks to the head would have adjusted his attitude long enough to get her out of there.

 

Two additional observations.

The one lady cop that just stood around enjoying the show. Why?

and the last female to run in front of the car, whats up with all that damn hair. It is what the bad guy used against the other woman cop but this one had it sticking out everywhere.

It took another male cop showing up to get it half way under control.

 

You never saw a male cop lose a fight?

All it takes is a man to show up and everything just sorts itself out eh?

A stat that gets very little media mention actually showed that female LEO's are more likely to use deadly force than make officers. This may have changed since this was first published.
But this video clearly shows why that stat is valid. A female officer is substantially less likely to be able to physically overwhelm a make suspect.
However, video of late shows more male officers are becoming less able to do so as well. Have training budgets been slashed and fitness requirements after the academy been eliminated?

I'm not saying that there aren't women that can handle the job. But there are far fewer women I would trust to handle a force on force situation then men. I've seen them come and go and a lot are scared and scared is dangerous. I knew one girl that graduated blet and only applied at nice towns because she didn't want to work south side in statesville. She felt it was too dangerous. While that might be true she was going to be a police officer and everywhere you go is dangerous. I have seen several very good willing female officers scrap it up with folks. But it is very few compared to the number actually holding the position.

 

Ya'll do know the goal of a police officer is not to get into fights, right?

 

She tried. That's about it. Few female officers can do the job when this comes up. Some male officers are useless also. Watching the video I don't comprehend the standing around by other officers.
This was a legitimate pile on, beat down time. Get it done fast.

the way they kept on with those tasers, made me question whether those things even had good batteries in them...

 

Tasers are useless when the systems they are supposed to overload are essentially redirected.

 

Well, on the topic of the taser use. He appeared to have a hoodie on. I would bet my next paycheck that they didn't have the barbs in him. The one officer was drive stunning him and that should have worked….if the battery was still working, etc. especially in the neck. (this is science)

I know everyone wants to jump on the "he was on PCP" bandwagon….but electrical current and polarization and depolarization of muscle cells aren't effected by those type of drugs. It WILL make him bat shit crazy, make people eat peoples faces, etc…. Unless you get into a paralytic medication like used during sedation during a surgery, that affects the synapse.. its just affecting their mental status. (this is science)

Another thing was….if he was grabbing her hair, and they were utilizing the taser, it causes muscle contraction…. that might have had a bearing on him "turning loose" after the initial "grab" of the officer. (this is speculation)

Had I been on that scene, I agree with the asp use, breaking his forearm, or just peeling his fingers back, or a bullet in his head. I hear that does wonders for relaxing the central nervous system. (this is science)

There was only one real solution here, lead to the brain stem. The whole Rodney King thing was due to PCP, and that was BS too, yet some still believe he was brutalized.
This guy could have been the next riot fodder. I expect you could have beat him with a baton for a while, before he stopped as well.

You have a valid point.... I forgot about the PCP.

 

In my work in private security over the years I have had a few altercations with guys suspected of being on drugs. It's not something you want to do by yourself and having the advantage of numbers definitely makes a difference.

I'll bet he's out of jail before she's out of the hospital.

 

The tasers were improperly deployed. The perp was wearing what appeared to be a heavy shirt and they used the darts instead of the contact points. Contact points to the side of his neck and crap would have come to a screeching halt.
The female needs to be terminated for not following protocol thereby endangering other officers lives. Everyone was lucky this time.
