Traded with a guy this evening and finally got me a Glock! I got a Glock 26. I shot my brothers 27 a while back and loved it so I figured it was time to add one to my stable. Just wanted to share! Can't wait to shoot it!

I hate being a Glocktard. I resisted for years. But it is what it is. Nothing else comes close when all these factors are taken together: durability, reliability, ease of maintenance, and good combat accuracy.

We keep going back and forth between a 19 and a 26 for the wife. She likes the feel of the 26 with the Pearce extension and she feels it's 'faster' on target for her than our 23s and the 19s. But I want a 19 to run stock service pistol for IDPA. Can't cheat with my re-barreled 22s/23s.

I would add price and availability of accessories, but yeah that's pretty much it. The baby Glocks are some of the best overall carry guns out there. Buy a case of ammo and enjoy.

The 19 is great for IDPA, and carry, and just about anything. But I did witness a dude in an IDPA match whoop 39 other shooters with a 26. It was freakish.

Love my 27, it's my carry gun (IWB). I would love to get a 23 and a 22 to go with it, but I have other gun needs at this point. I am a huge fan of Glocks and I could care less if people think they are ugly (ever see a Hi-Point? Now that's ugly). They are super reliable and plenty accurate for any CQC situation. Welcome to the dark side, enjoy it and shoot, shoot, shoot.

Same here. I bashed their ugliness, their silly plastic, their terrible trigger, their complete lack of ergonomics, those silly plastic sights, that even sillier white "U" on the rear notch (still hate that) and most of all that weird grip angle.

I bought a gen4 17 and actually put more than 100 rounds through it...and i was hooked. Once I actually ran the gun instead of shooting a mag or two and fondling it, I discovered it was a really fun gun. Everything I was whining about seemed frivolous. I eventually picked up a gen4 19 (around 3000 trouble free rounds now despite internet talk of their constant failures) and it is one of my all time favorites. Small enough to carry, yet big enough to be a really comfortable shooter. If I lost all of my guns and I had to start buying replacements, a glock 19 and a 22 rifle would be tops on my list.

I also learned that I can't evaluate a gun after less than 100 or so rounds. You don't get to know until 500+ and I no longer attempt any modifications to anything other than sights until I hit 1000 rounds or so. That gives you enough time to get familiar with it and understand more about what you need to fix for your own tastes.
