Nothing wrong with that...just keep an eye on the blocks. Heat can sometimes cause them to burst.

 

 

Mark, I have that old copper base drum if you want to use it as an insert for that pit. Should be just about the right size.

Here ya go. This pic was taken after it had been burning for awhile. At one point, soon after it got going, the flames were about 20 to 25 feet high. But the coals were so hot later that you couldn't get anywhere close to it.

 

They sell those steel rings at Lowes out in the garden section outside, FWIW.

Also, they sell the "kits" with the concrete "stones" cut to lay in a circle with the fire ring, but the whole kits were a little pricey.

A cooler, a gas can, beer, and a fire pit. That's ******* enough for me.

 

That was a little ******* haven on the back of my property that we set up for all the neighbors to enjoy. Had lots of good times out there.

 

My step-daughter has wanted a fire pit for awhile. Well, spend 100 dollars and buy one or use what we had available.

That one is the 30 yarder. There is a 100 yarder around the corner.

 

I burned so much wood since I bought my firebowl a few weeks ago that I just went to the wood yard for another small load of oak.

 

Yes. We are cleaning up all the dead wood around the house.

I weathered two showers tonight after i finally got all that green oak to burn. Im not going in now.

That would burn more efficiently if he put a couple of bricks under it. The rim holes in the bottom could draw air then. Even put a door on it
