WTF has happened to the price of razor blades???? I just finished a 4 year supply of replaceable blades that I bought at a flea market outside Atlanta and when I went to buy more at Wally World today I damned near fell out in the aisle!!!!!

It's not like I use a 10 blade, self propelled, orgasm producing unit, I use a simple 2 blade replaceable Gillette. THIS I do NOT understand???????

Not only do I like C&R Guns, but I like C&R shaving tools also :D

A traditional wet shave with warm lather brushed on with a soft badger hair brush, is far superior to a shave from the four blade wonders and a can of goo. Not to mention the blades are cheap and sharp. I have been on this box for 2 years. It only takes a dab of the shaving soap to lather your face. Astra blades are very sharp, so don't apply pressure like you do with those mach 3's and such. Because of the light to no pressure needed to shave with this type of shave, it is very good for those who get shaving bumps or have sensitive skin.

That's a vintage 1962 gillette double edge adjustable, and a Merkur Slant barber (shaving with it is not for the faint at heart LOL), honestly it's the best shaving razor I have ever used.

I did the soap/dish/badger brush thing for a couple of years, but couldn't find any nice soaps that didn't cost a fortune....where do you buy Astra blades and a razor to run them..??...

Double-edged and a can of Barbasol is what I cut my chin on...

Grow a beard, or get a straight razor.

The Edwin Jagger DE89 is a great starter razor, you can also pick up a vintage Gillette on eBay or Etsy for 10-20 and get a great shave as well

Warm that face, get it wet with hot water, use some warm lather and these razors cut through the hair like butter.

Thats the blades, only 9.75 shipped per 100, look at the bottom and you see options for shaving soap. I use prorasro senstive, and a can of that stuff will last 4-6 months if you shave every day. It only takes a very little dab to lather your entire face. That 100 blade pack lasts a while also. I get at least 3-4 shaves from a blade, sometimes more, and my beard is coarse. You can feel when it's time to change the blade.

Also you can check ebay for double edge razors. They make adjustables which may be good for those not looking for as an aggressive of a shave (angle of the blade can be dialed down if you are prone to cutting yourself, but it may take more passes to get it smooth when you dial it down.

With that heavy Merkur slant barber, I can get it smooth in one pass, it's an aggressive razor with a good amount of exposed blade. I started on that adjustable gillette safety razor until I was comfortable.

Here is a store that sells double edge safety razors. http://www.royalshave.com/c/safety-razors.html

Check Ebay for vintage razors, (Like the old gillettes) clean them with alcohol for sanitizing and mineral oil for cleaning, and they are GTG.

Braun electric cost 200.00 but it's blades last 18 months for a lighter beard. I have a really thick beard so I get about 9-12 months, replacement head is 30.00. The cost increase has been attributed to people stealing them and selling cheap at flea markets.

My hair grows fast and thick. If I shave at 5am, I have a 5 o'clock shadow just after lunch. I'm full on miami vice stubble by early day 3. If you're buying those crap walmart mass market razors, they're more expensive than brass cased 9mm and 223 in the BST section. That's really saying something.

Stop shaving, shoot more.

I bought a trimmer. Honestly keeping a beard trimmed and neat is more trouble than shaving. Once you get over 30 you need a damned weed whacker, anyway. At least I do. I could let myself go for a month and I could braid the hair in and around my ear with my nose hair.

I normally rock this, but with a close cropped beard.

I would look like a dwarve in a few months if I didn't trim it though.

I use a nice Braun electric. What I have saved from not buying blades easily offset the cost of the electric razor in no time.
Braun electric want cut it good enough for me (not close, leaves a shadow still). Not to mention it leaves my face irritated with all that rubbing.

LOL I did grow a beard this winter, only kept my neck shaved. I was starting to look the guys on duck dynasty. My wife made me clean shave, plus it was starting to get hot.

Glad I'm not the only one. I felt like I was beard raped after using one. Painful. But my facial hair is just stupid thick.

That's what I've been doing only I keep it somewhere between "stubble" and "beard." I get compliments on it. I'm like WTF, I'm just being lazy and I thought women liked men clean shaven?!

I cant tell you the last time any kind of razor has touched this face. I would venture to say back in 2006-7.
I just use a norelco beard/hair trimmer. When what hair I have left give me a mull-de-saq, its time to cut them both.
