my Dad built this shortened .303 Lee Enfield No1 Mk3 aka SMLE. He called it a brush gun. In keeping its military stock and nose cap etc. it’s kind of a “tanker” style build. I like it. Good to keep in the truck and if you run out of ammo, it would make one helluva club! Brass butt plate. $350 or as partial trade toward a nice .357 lever gun. All local laws followed. FTF sale, Must have NC CCH permit or will meet at an FFL for transfer in the Garner area

I don't know why not. I've built several Mauser 45 acp conversions and adjusted and zero'd those sights on a shorter barrel also. I intend to shoot it this weekend. I'll let you know. I have another one of these tanker SMLEs with same length barrel. I put one a long eye relief 4X scout scope and I can hit a 10" steel gong at 200 yrds with no problem.

I gotcha. Thanks for offering to shoot it to see. I had a '96 Swedish Mauser cut down from a 29" barrel to a 24" one. The original front sight was reinstalled with a 5" shorter radius. When I elevated and lowered the back sight the POI was way too high and the next notch was way too low. I had to replace the front sight with one of a different height to regulate the zero.
