Help me pick my next pistol

I am going to buy a 9mm to celebrate my CCW permit.

my requirements are not overly complex and all 3 seem to meet them:

- possible carry weapon (I am a bigger guy so I can conceal a larger gun)
- solid brand and after the sale support (warranty) if need be
- availability of things like extra magazines
- full size, no compacts or subcompacts
- price: sub $500

which one would you pick?

any that I am missing (and don't say a Glock as I just don't like 'em...they don't fit right in my hand)?

(WTF, no option to create a poll?)

the choices that i have narrowed it down to are:

- Taurus PT92/99 (leaning towards the 99 for the adjustable sights)
- Ruger SR9 (full size)
- Beretta PX4 Storm

So tell me your opinion as to why I should pick one of the above and which one I should consider that isn't on the list

I don't think you would go wrong with either one of those pistols. I have no personal experience with any of them, so I can't make a recommendation other than try to shoot all three before you decide. There are ranges with rental guns available and these three are popular enough you should be able to shoot some if not all of them before you make a final decision.

I am a big believer in fit and feel to you the individual shooter is of critical importance in doing well with a handgun, so if you can't shoot them go with the one that feels the best in your hand.

You have already eliminated the one that meets your requirements. LOL

Of those that you mentioned, I'd go with the Taurus PT92.

The SR9 is a good choice I have one that I am pretty accurate with But I carry a XD 40 so put me in the crowd that says try the XD.

As for the other Rugers I don't like them only because of the safety, its just unnatural to have to flip it up rather than down, it would take a lot of practice if it was going to be your EDC.

The FNP or FNX from FN are nice guns and I can vouch for their CS I bought a used one that "locked up" on me and they replaced it with a brand new pistol with all the goodies.

Among your three choices, I would rank them in this order, personally:

- Ruger SR9 (full size)
- Beretta PX4 Storm (very close second)
- Taurus PT92/99 (adjustable sights are overrated for SD purposes, best for target guns)

That said, I am carrying a CZ75BD 9mm, myself, on the days I don't carry a CZ75D PCR. So I guess that tells you MY first choice.

Another vote for the CZ 75B. Excellent pistol and a lot of fun to shoot.

I recently got a Ruger SR9C, so I guess I would be partial to that, but, as some others have suggested I would probably go with a CZ-75. I think it is one of the best pistols out there, especially ergonomically. Mine shoots small groups and feels good in my hand while doing it.

I have a PT92, although I don't carry it, it is very reliable and accurate. I also have an XD9 that is very reliable and accurate. From your list to chose from, I'd go with the PT92, but Don't rule out the XD9, I like my XD better than my PT92.

+1 for the CZ
CZ75 (16 round mag)
CZ P01 (14 round mag and will take 16)
Carry with hammer down double action 1st shot-- single action for the rest. For me points exceptionally well. Very accurate for a combat gun. You can get a quality 22 upper (Kadet) that really works. CDNN have good prices on mags. Check the mag prices on what you want.

+1 for the XD's
I like the grip safety for carry (kinda like a 1911 with a glock trigger instead of a safety). Mags reasonable cost. Very accurate for a combat gun. Good aftermarket products.
