As one who has participated in a number of firearm competitions, I have a very fond place for the 1911. Tiptoeing into the IDPA game, I have, as usual, done a lot of research into how I set up my 1911 for this competition. With my Type A personality, I always have to find a better way.
In a recent discussion with a much better pistolero, we started on recoil. I wanted to know how did shooters set up their weapons to calm recoil via powder, bullets, parts, with the power factor that is required so I said "The web".
Setting down about 6:00pm, I am now writing this. I have been reading some amazing information on a couple of websites. Specifically M1911.org.
DANG!!!!!!!!
I realized after a few minutes when I met him that the man probably knew a bunch about the 1911. I knew he had to be a gunsmith. You know. Succint. No suttleness here.
But little did I know how much of a reputation 1911Tuner enjoys. I have been reading new and old posts that are full of information. The firing pin stop is an interesting read. I will order a couple.
Tuner, I come to knee humbly. Seriously.
You need to write that book Tuner. I want a couple or three also. Of course, autographed. I think we need another lesson. Can I bring some Dickel?
