I thought I would post up my experience with my recent purchase of the UTG Pro Super Slim handguard. It has been talked about a few time on here with some folks frowning on it because it is made by UTG which has a history of being less than stellar. I based my purchase on good reviews that others had posted on this and other forums. To be honest I have never even owned anything by UTG because of their reputation so it is hard to give a comparison of their other products. UTG seemed to have stepped up their game and has opened up a manufacturing facility in the US. This hand guard is part of their UTG Pro line which is made in the US.
Average retail is around the $125 range for this hand guard and comes with three picatinny rails.
It utilizes a proprietary barrel nut and includes the necessary wrench. Once you get everything off it is fairly straight forward to install with good detailed instructions with pictures. It took me about 30 min to install.
Overall the quality is great with good fit and finish. It mounts very solid and seems like it will be sturdy. I am pleased with it so far and think for the money it is a great value compared to what other brands in this style of hand guard sales for.
