there are several states making movements to tell the ATF to pound sand, claiming "States Rights" over guns and NFA items. The argument is that the 10th Amendment to the Constitution allows the State (not the Feds) to control items manufactured and sold within its own borders.

The items would have to be marked "made in NC" and not sold outside of the state, but otherwise wouldn't require tax stamps or a note from mommy saying you could own them.

Ironically, the .gov, in refusing to enforce its own laws (marijuana, immigration, etc) is opening a crack in the doorway that hasn't been there before.

Personally I'd love a newly manufactured M1919 .30 cal machine gun with a pretty "Made in NC" roll mark....hell, maybe a twin mount if the price were right.

The Tenther angle has some merit.....as the federal government depends heavily on the bastardized interpretations of the commerce clause in enforcing gun legislation.

We could start a campaign a la HB 937....

God I would love this to come to NC. I do want a suppressor for my Ruger Mark III 22/45 and my AR, but it's just such a hassle.
I just did it. It's absolutely not much of a hassle with the right dealer. And we have several good ones on the board. However, not being a hassle did not make it one cent cheaper. The suppressor is the single most expensive firearm related thing I have ever bought.

Well there's that too.

But shelling out that much $$$ and THEN waiting 9 months before I can even possess what I bought?? Yeah that's a HASSLE.

The Forsyth County sheriff will not sign off on any class 3 stuff at all for anyone, if you want it here you have to set up a trust or corporation or some such. That's just wrong.

Ironically, the current sheriff's opponent just joined CSC this morning. We (CSC) as an organization doesn't pick sides, but we certainly welcome input from all the candidates.

It really is not.

I'm currently about 1 month from getting my 22 can out of ATF jail. There are several trust templates available, get one and put your trust name on it and get it notarized at the bank. See Shawn at Carolina Smoke and Guns (formerly Start to Finish) a AAC pilot 2 runs about $350 out the door + $200 to the ATF and he will e-file your form 4 and you too will have a can in about 4 months.

Oh, and if you go to the DPRC suppressor shoot, Shawn will bring your can out for a conjugal visit. If you have not purchased one yet, come out and try some.

$550 can get you into a can?

Clif Kilby or someone else?

Mr Kilby at least seemed open to considering NFA sign offs.
