I've tried the daily schedule in my bible but it just didn't flow. I think I'm going to start and use a note pad to write one or two questions from each passage I read that day. Then find the answer. I've been wanting a leather bound journal for sometime, might be a perfect excuse.
Get an app that reminds you, and set it for a certain time each day. Just like work or whatever you just do it, same time, every day and let nothing get in the way.

I don't know what your doc told you brother but nothing rebuilds cartilage besides possibly microfracturing.
Been there, done all that. If my right knee had as many needles sticking out as have been stuck in, it would look like a porcupine.

Had laproscopy in Feb. Already had a couple rounds of cortisone and another synvisc(hyalouronic acid). It is actually a replacement for lost synovial fluid that is supposed to be in the joint. My knee has had the works, microfracturing, trimmed meniscus, cleaned up synovial sac, it still hurts like hell almost every day. It has now started trying to throw me on the ground or down a flight of stairs. Much of my knee is now bone on bone. It crunches like a flour sack full of pea gravel. Not much left but replacement. I want it replaced but my doc keeps pushing me a little further. At some point I am gonna tell him I don't give a crap if it is wore out in 20 years, I need quality of life while I am young!

I feel for you, and know what you are going through. If the shots are working be thankful, you still have good options.
Take care of your knee and good luck.
Mine is bone on bone too. It locks up at about 15* bent sometimes and may stay like that an hour or a couple of days. Have loose bodies (bone frags) and have had many surgeries and frags removed. They say that they won't do a replacement until after 50, that's 5 years more of this. The S will HTF before then I suppose and I will die defending my cabin from radical muzzie zombie yankee bikers from Boston with their damn accents.......of all the $%^&&* ways to die,,,,,,,

Yeah that's the problem I can not set an alarm for the same time everyday. Somedays I'm working or asleep for work at any given time. 24/7 rotating sucks.

They did my dads knees at 48. Now at 72 he needs one redone because the glue is coming undone.

I got the diabeetus. Sugar is out. HFCS is the devil.
Research has shown that Aspartame and Splenda can actually fool your metabolism into the same response as sugar.
Some research shows Aspartame can turn into cyanide in your bloodstream.
The old standby, saccharine, while linked to cancer might be the safest.
I plan to quit them all, I like un-processed coconut palm sugar and plan to use that in my one cup of coffee I have in the morning.

Try stevia guys. It does not trigger the sugar response and is low carb friendly. Get the good stuff from the health food store. Liquid for cold drinks and powder for hot drinks. Stay away from the packaged crap that contains dextrose.

There's not much you can put into your body these days that someone won't claim causes some ill effect. Like you I pick my battles. Lately I go with "all things in moderation - except sugar and milk"

Lol PK!
I tell all my fellow tin foil hat wearers, when the SHTF I am at best an expendable asset in my condition. If we have to beat feet to the hills I am good for covering the retreat, I can't run. Most days I can't even walk.
I'd last about 20 minutes in a zombie apocalypse.
When the outbreak comes, I will probably be having a back spasm and my knee will be locked up. I will die in a pile of brass, Pmags and perhaps a turd or two.
If enough of us broken-down like minded people formed a line we might come out of this all right. Just have someone keep passing the ammunition. [emoji6]

Thanks, good luck to you as well. It's just what I was told, but then again, my doc referred to them as "rooster shots". I didn't ask-
I essentially have bone-on-bone too, but right now if the right felt as good as the left, I wouldn't complain so much. I just haven't pursued further treatment yet, but I will soon, getting tired of barely getting through a trip to the groc store.
I had the rooster comb shots, cortisone shots and 2 rounds of "scoping" my knees.
The roosters are a waste of money.
When you get to bone on bone nothing but replacement works.
Ask my ole lady, she had all that stuff done too but now she has 2 new knees. Once the pain is finally gone, she should be good as new.

I love it, I really do, but it's the debil.

It is linked to joint problems and that is something I already have plenty of.
Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners have their own killer tendencies.
I have known it for years, quit it a time or two but I am never going back this time.
Aside from the negative effects, the single biggest issue....

It triggers chemical responses that put your body in a fat storage mode. It isn't a conspiracy theory...it is science. :) Aspartame is essentially comprised of two aminos...phenylalanine and aspartic acid. High doses of those two acids stimulate insulin and leptin release, which in turn promotes fat storage and inhibits fat burning. Yes, yes, yes...it is heresy, but diet crap is extremely counterproductive to fat loss. It's science, specifically chemistry....not conspiracy. :)

Well my tribe are all about the same age. We have added a couple younger guys but we have been preparing so long we may end up having to be looked after rather than doing the lookin'. Make no mistake, we are dangerous MFers but only out to a certain range. We probably are not what you need if a 3 day patrol is the order of the day. Hence recruiting some younger fitter people with cartilage left.

I had a waking dream....
I saw PK say to me......
"You have strength and your shooting ain't half bad, you shall be known as Pudgykins, which is the strength of the base of the pudding. This is your secret name in our troop, but you must choose the name of manhood which we will call you openly."
Me:
"What do you call the entree in Sunday dinner."
PK:
"We call that one....Chikn."
Me:
"May I be known as Armorpl8 Chikn?"
PK:
"You are Armorpl8Chikn, you will have sanctuary in our tribe, your water shall mingle with our water."

Meow if you get that reference....you are a true sci-fi geek.....like me.
