When I make $100 I get to keep about $53 and when I spend that $53 I can only buy $49 worth of stuff, so more than half my earnings go to taxes. From what's left I have healthcare which I probably should just add it as a tax. It sucks, I need a loophole.

Obviously you're not wealthy enough go buy one. If you were the politicians would give you one. Well, actually they'd give themselves one and you could ride it.

In all likelihood, not much. You always have the option of filing separately, which I think can be of benefit if your incomes are wildly different.
