generally speaking, 'small' + 'magnum' is a recipe for unhappiness at least for your wrists. The LCR gets away with it due to the frame and excellent grips otherwise you don't want a pocket magnum for range use.

Im also going to post my recommendation. All the Interwebs-guns-Experts people may say bad things about them, and I have no doubt that Taurus makes some crap guns, but I've got a Taurus 817 that is flat out the best revolver I've ever had. It holds 7 rounds of 357 magnum, and it FITS perfectly in my SP101 holster. (Small, yet mighty) Again - the Ruger and S&W both hold 5 rounds. the Taurus holds 7. I have to also mention that the Ruger SP101 was - by far - a more robust revolver. Although the same weight, it felt like it would outlast my great-great grandchildren's great-great grandchildren. The Taurus feels lke it will last a good long time - it is Stainless Steel, after all - but the Ruger was nicer. I say WAS because I sold the Ruger and Kept the Taurus.
Food for thought. I have been looking for a good deal on a SP 101, but 7 rounds of .357 is pretty hard to beat.
