I like Hoppe's to get it super clean, but if you need something less smelly try out some Break-Free CLP.

 

Sometimes I spill Hoppes on purpose so my bench can smell like it. Then leave it on my hands so I can keep smelling it and make my wife mad. She can't sleep with me laying next to her smelling like Hoppes.

I usually clean mine in the house, so on occasion my house smells like Hoppes. I used to love it when I was buying tons of AK parts kits, especially the Yugo stuff. My house would smell like cosmoline for a week.

Well that explains a lot of reactions I have been getting when I use Hoppes as cologne.

I would rather sit in an enclosed room with 20 construction workers, after eating mexican food, than smell Ballistol

 

I love that smell. Especially CLP. To me it smells like "Home". Probably has something to do with enlisting in the Army at 17 ;guntoot

Man, I am getting me one of the hoppes air freshners just to piss my girlfriend off. Might have to hid it so she won't throw it away though.

 

I guess it will depress you to know that 30 years ago it smelled better...a lot better.

I thought I was the only one that liked that! I clean my weapons in the garage and shut the door when I'm done. The next morning I go out to start my car and smell that smell, then I think, do I really need to go to work today? I should just go shooting.

 

where do you get ballistol at? I use brake cleaner non-chlorinated for the barrel or hoppes.
