he caught in in tenn. close to knoxville and was just using normal bait he catches shad and uses them for cut bait or should I say chunk bait same way I taught him

Sounds Lake Loudon to me. Douglas Dam, Tellico and Norris (especially for Trout) all have good fishin within 30-40 min of Knoxville.
