Wow d-bag after d-bag keep popping up in the news involved in some kind of gun/shooting debacle.... The timing couldn't be worse given all that has happened. I wish these losers would give it a rest and stop giving the antis more ammo....

I don't know if I would classify the guy as a dirtbag. So England has disarmed it's population. This guy is just rearming them. Good deed done. England needs more guns. The only folks allowed to shoot over there are the hunt club members carrying $20k over unders and side by sides. England needs to do two things. Get rid of that damn queen and open up some gun stores for gods sake.

You are mad because he had some Rugers that you now can't get.

That's just crazy. I'm sure more guns make their way there in overseas cargo containers every day than this guy could smuggle in a month.

I heard on the radio last week that less than 1% of cargo that gets shipped by boats is actually inspected. And I believe 1% is a very inflated estimate.

Not to say that what he did was right, arrest him and throw away the key. But it isn't my idea of a huge news event. =)

Are you seriously condoning someone breaking the law. This is the very reason crap like this ends up on the evening news. Please open my eyes to how this guy did a good deed. All he seemed to do is break a few laws and get real bad publicity for 2A - advocates.

You statement is about as ignorant as they come.

Is this a statement in jest or is it serious?

Nah I just said he wasn't a dirtbag.
I actually meant the other "d" bag but I figured it might be considered inappropriate language on the forum lol. And he is a d-bag for bringing negative attention to gun owners/2A rights in the US. Seems like idiots are adding fuel to the fire faster lately than the antis can even react to it!

The crime was smuggling them into the UK. This is a perfectly good example of gun control gone wrong. Man smuggles guns into UK. Since handguns are illegal only criminals end up with the guns of course. The guns never would have been smuggled in the first place if there wasn't a prohibition induced markup, like drugs are in the US. Meanwhile law abiding citizens are left defenseless with police that carry only tasers. I don't think any cop wants to take a taser to a gun fight. This guy is going to jail for a very long time. I think you get a pint of beer a day in British prison though, after you've been violated by some red headed guy named Oliver or Winston.

Sometimes a little revolution is a good thing.

I'm not a screaming conspiracy theorist by any stretch...but sometimes a coincidence is too coincidental to be a coincidence.

Capture the will of the people, and you can push pretty much any old legislation through...and they'll accept it.

Phantom Crab be careful about calling people ignorant or telling them that their opinion is ignorant, especially round here. I guarantee if our government made guns illegal & they were outlawed, like in UK, the majority of us would "become" outlaws. Because something is a law doesn't make it correct, infact it usually means that those of us that try & be on the good side of the law get screwed while criminals continue on their way. Granted what this guy did was illegal in the UK, but it doesn't necessarily mean its wrong

2nd Amendment or not I'll own firearms.

He bought them legally. 100%
No he didn't. He lied on the federal form. He had every intention of taking them overseas and selling them. Thus he was participating in a straw man purchase.

Now, he bought them through legal channels, in a very legit type transaction, The retailer who sold the firearms did not break any laws. But here is what I don't get, this entire article has got to be wrong. I mean it is illegal to lie on the form so there is no way it can be done then. Also, it is illegal to smuggle firearms to the UK and sell them on the street. So once again, there is a law against it so it could not possibly happen. Right?

I mean this entire story seems to suggest (to me anyway), that possibly, just throwing out a law does not necessarily mean a criminal will abide by it. That can't be correct though. The Anti-2a crowd has been telling me for years that all you need to do is ban firearms and rainbows will fly out of everyone's backside and there will be peace and harmony in the universe.
