I picked this up from a fellow forum member this week. My first 20" rifle. My others are 16's. I topped it with a Nikon P223 with the 600 yd BDC reticle. It's also wearing a Rockmount (Harris clone) bipod and a modified MS3 sling. Will be zeroing it tomorrow at Buckhorn. Hopefully I don't spontaneously combust..........:).

That is sweet. I have a 20" HBAR Bushmaster that I am thinking of mounting an M223 to. I was thinking of selling both, but they don't seem to draw any interest. I just have to swap the FSB with a railed gas block so it isn't in the way at lower magnification.
Unless you're going with a 1-4 with a true 1x you wont likely even see the FSB.

I have a 2-8X M223 and I can see it up until I hit 4X.
Interesting. I suppose it varies by bbl length and focal point of the scope. With the millet on my 16"RRA upper I could MAAYBE see a shadow of the FSB at 1x if I was lookin for it. Any above 1x and it was completely invisible. The millet isn't a true 1x anyhow. Something like a 1.1x or so.

Range Report:

It was hot at the range............that is all..........

Just kidding, that's not all, but it was HOT at the range. I got up later than planned this morning and barely made it by 9:30. I was really shooting for 9:00 or earlier so I could be out of there before 11:00-12:00 when even the Devil would be saying "To Hell with this I'm going back to Hell."

Got there and got to the 100yd line. Bumped into a guy I met a couple weeks ago and we talked for a bit, which put me even farther into the "approaching Hell" timeframe, but I don't mind. I like to chatter about guns as much as the next guy.

I realized after a couple trigger pulls that I really should have laser bore sighted this scope. Hell that's why I have a laser boresighter right? Well I wasn't on paper. I was about 11.5" low out of the gate. Once I got that figured out and got it zero'd I could start seeing what kind of groups it would do.

I was averaging right around an inch with the best group being .833". Most were in the .911"-1.15" range. As the morning wore on and the sweat started running into my eyes my groups opened up to 1.4-1.5" with the worst being a 2.25" that I yanked one on. All of this was with Federal XM193 ammo. I'm sure with better ammo the groups would be more consistent and a little smaller. I'll have to pick up some OTM ammo and see what it does.

Rifle ran great. No failures of any kind. Scope was very clear (when I didn't have sweat in my eyes) and adjustments were positive and tracked nicely. I'm pleased........

Good deal Tom. I'm following your review closely, as I haven't done anything yet with my lower. Just looking around at options to build toward, since this is my first AR.

Got any pics and descriptions of what you've done to yours including optics, etc?
