Usta sell bowhunting gear. Loved Thunderhead broad heads and really pushed them. They had a pretty good markup. At all the shows, Dixie Deer Classic, Raleigh Gun and Knife, C&E, old D&S everyone started call me Mr Thunderhead and it just stuck.

Uhhh

My dad was USAF lifer and his desk name tag/plate read: "L.D. Golden" and I always thought that was cool (his initials and last name). So I became dogolden (my initials and last name). My initials are DOG and that was just too easy. It seems like lately everybody is "DOG" so I just couldn't do it..

Mine is pretty simple. I was required to fill out a contact information page for tech support one time, including picking a handle. I put in "noway" for a handle, as in no way I am going to provide this information. Apparently, noway, was already taken, so I put a 2 after it. It took and I have used it ever since.

I read a story about the battle of Thermopylae in a school literature book when I was a kid. It always stuck with me so I read more about it when I got older. It used to be my license plate as well but I sold that car...sigh.

Has been my sn for various things since then...way before 300 came out.

For a great book about the battle of Thermo...pick up Gates of Fire by Stephen Pressfield. Its a shame the movie project fell thru..great story.

Also a book (or any book) by Ernle Bradford. He was a retired British Royal Navy sailor that went back to the Med and became a historian of sorts about it. Great author as he captures things from a sailors point of view rather than a historian.

It seems that everyone in the 82nd wanted to carry some type of rambo lookin MRE slayer. I wanted to be different and I rigged a Gerber Backpaxe to my gear. One day I'm walking past a 1SG with a few buddies and give him the greeting on the day. He returns it and after a moment I hear " Hey! Hey get back here f*ck*r! What the f*ck is that?! " I show him the hatchet, he messes with it for a second, hands it back and says " What are you? Some kind of f*ck*ng LUMBER...um...JACK? I begin to tell him how I actually worked at a lumber mill as a teenager, when he cuts me off with " Whatever Cpl Lumberjack... carry on. "

It stuck.

(BNZ43) German WWII ordnance code for an MP40 SMG. My all time favorite WWII SMG.

BNZ = Steyr of Austria

43 = 1943

Most of the C&R crowd know what the code is for but not too many others. I use the same handle on most of the web boards. Works out pretty well.

I am a former Jarhead 53A/D/E crew chief. The last being the Echo Super Stallion, to which we called the Super Hogg because it had a habbit of leaking on anything that came close to it, the rule of thumb is if it aint leaking its not fixed its empty. I added the CC for crew chief since for some strange reason other sites had people using superhogg. It works for me and its easy to remember.

I've used Swordfish as a name for a few online games. My Father was a Scout pilot in Vietnam and his callsign was Saber14, so I put the 2 together.
