Fade To Black - Metallica

Black Funeral - Mercyful Fate

^^^quite possibly one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
*All Hail Satan*
*YES HAIL SATAN!!!*

Is hard to take someone serious at that octave (or with that much falsetto)...

Metal Fatigue - Alan Holdsworth
it was Portnoy who left. Have you seen the DVD that came with the special edition of A Dramatic Turn of Events where they were auditioning the drummers? I can't believe they chose Mangini over some of the others. Especially Marco Minneman.
I saw those videos on the band's web site when they first came out. I agree about Minneman being a more interesting choice, but I think they were influenced by Mangini teaching at Berklee, where the other band members schooled, and he may have been a better fit with their music, since Minneman likes a more jazzy style. I was lucky enough to catch them both on the same stage a few years ago playing with UK. Watching those two guys playing off against each other was truly awesome.

BTW, Minneman will be playing with The Aristocrats in Raleigh August 11 at The Pour House. :)

Awesomeness. Thanks for the heads up. I think you are probably right about why they went with Mangini. I will say I like their most recent self titled album a lot but you can definitely see a trend towards shorter more radio friendly songs. I will still buy anything they put out simply because I am such a fan of Petrucci's, but I have heard/seen Minneman do some insane things on a drumkit and the whole time he looks like he is having a blast. Derek Roddy was another one they auditioned that is a monster on the drums.

This ^^^. I have never seen anyone who looked line they were having more fun while playing the most complicated, unbelievable drum riffs imaginable.
