Value? $250-300 and way up depending on a lot of factors, the biggest of which is whether it functions (likely, I would guess) and whether it is import marked. Condition is important as well, as are original stamps on the stock. Just about any decent, functioning USGI M1 Carbine is worth $500. Ones with horrible import stamps (like Blue Sky) and bad bores (like Blue Sky and most others that came from Korea) can be worth less.

We'd need a lot more details to do much more. With just what I see, I'd go $200 as well. :lol:

All kidding aside, any US military contract carbine is worth more than $202.
Even the ones that were re-imported from Korea. Those too are US Military Carbines...we just supplied South Korea with some in a time of need...just like we supplied South Vietnam with some US military weapons.

If truth be known and stories could be told, the import carbines probably have a more interesting history.

The rear sight has been changed from the original flip style. The type shown is normally associated with a post war rebuild. The manufacturer stamp is under the rear sight. Two of the other items normally replaced at rebuild look to be what you would find on an original rifle which are the push button safety (as opposed to a flip safety) and a standard barrel band (as opposed to a bayonet lug style). Values are all over the place based on a lot of the factors the folks here have already mentioned: condition, import stamp and originality. One of the other major players is who made the receiver. There were several companies who made Carbines during WWII and they have a pecking order on desirability. Look under the rear sight and you should be able to see enough to determine the maker or use the serial number. The government issued blocks of serial numbers to the makers. Pull off that yellow stock guard and look into the recess cut for the oiler. If its been rebuilt there should be a stamped cartouche indicating the location.
