my grandfather is telling me that his friends has a 1898 winchester Over Under rifle. i was told its a 12ga over 32-20 or 44-40.. can anyone verify if they even made this rifle. i cant find any info on it.

he is wanting to know a ball park on the rifle.

my guess it that its the wrong year. or its not a winchester.

i am guessing one of you collectors will know what i am talking about, or he is crazy and they never built one. either way an answer would be nice. thanks

He very well might have a serious jewel on his hands. Winchester can help you with dating the drilling if indeed it is a Winchester. You can't google it because there's hundreds of drilling companies out there named Winchester.

i am going to try and get a picture of this thing or put it rest that it doesnt exist. i am thinking its a older lever action and because his friends thinks he sees 2 "barrels" that its a Over/Under.

My grandfather has atleast 20 belgian brownings, but ill never get any of them when he passes away.

wait i have one better. we are also talking about the guy who had 180 acres of land, all i ever heard when i was younger was "when you get older and i pass, i am going to "will" all you grand kids my land". lol nope, he sold it to my uncle for 60K. i am not sure what is worse, my grandfather selling the land or my uncle actually purchasing it and screwing us grand kids.

Family will always screw you the hardest....

When it comes to family, it is a gift that some choose to use for their benefit rather than contributing as they should. I figure that when I hit 21 years of age nobody owed me a thing, especially my family and any wealth that the elders have is theirs to blow as they choose, I'll make my own way just fine. Never saw any good come from folks sitting around waiting for someone to die.
