I need to get a trailcam. I live in an old neighborhood of large lots in town next to wide open space (alright, golf course). All the development on the fringes of town seem to drive wildlife in town as much as out.

We have lots of deer, fox, occasional 'yote dead in the road, hawks, one bald eagle. Oh, and idiot teenagers.

Wonder what I could see at night?

That is a very young buck with very good genes. I can only imagine what he would be like in 1-2 years.

Almost looks like a rare antlered doe.
Researchers estimate one in every 1,000 to 6,000 white-tailed females produces antlers
He is young. Imagine the rack in a couple of years .....

A few highlights from years past.

I usually wait a little while into or past the season to post current year photos.

Most of the cameras I have used in the past take pretty crappy pics. I did buy a Bushnell a couple of years ago, I'll post some of those pics when I get home from work. These older ones I have here on my work pc.

Thought this little fella in the first pic was a little thick for the size of his antlers. Kinda cool the way they go straight up.

I remember this deer, he had a huge body for the size of his antlers. Once we started getting pictures of him from the other side, you could see on his back right ham that he had some big lump under the skin. He had either been shot or hit by a car. Seen him later in person. He wasn't limping or in distress so I let him walk.

This doe here worried me a little. Never did see her in person. Maybe she was just old.

This one we nicknamed "whoppy-jaw". Every picture I got of him, and I had several, he was holding the same leg up in the air. If I had seen him in person I probably would have shot him, but I never did meet him in the daytime.

Same property still:

Same camera as above, same location. 09 was a good buck year for here as well.

One of my favorite pics from 2011. Not sure what he had been fighting, looks like hay, but no bales or fields around. Had pictures of him everynight and never saw him. Had pics from after the season, so hopefully he is around this year if a car did not get him
