Good friend just had her baby 5 weeks early, healthy little girl 4lbs, 14oz. and they dont really have any clothes small enough to fit her yet. If anyone has any laying around that they would like to get rid of, please let me know. This couple does not have a whole lot of money so this is a request for things that people are willing to give away, not sell.

Thanks!

We got rid of all of ours, but I'd be glad to pick up and ship you a few items. So if anyone else wants to go in on a "CSC Baby Package" I'd be happy to collect the money and make a shopping trip and send it down to Mekender.

Dawwww...

Alright boys and girls...I'll head to the store tomorrow or Tuesday. If y'all want to send me some money let me know. I'll just increase what I can buy with it.

I'm thinking:

Newborn diapers
Half dozen onsies
Baby wipes
Swaddling blanket
Baby lotion
Cleaning pads/baby wash
Socks

These are the basics, I'll get what I can, but could use help.

My wife says that socks are not necessary (they have plenty), and that lotions and wipes are out due to allergies. But long sleeve stuff would be great.

I swear, you guys on this forum never cease to amaze me when it comes to kindness.

just a thought, since she was 5 weeks early and with her weight they may not let her come home right away. when she does preemie sizes my be to small.
She could still use some cute stuff while at the hospital. They normally just have white "industrial" clothes. All parents want their babies dressed in "their own" clothes. We gonna make that happen.

didn't know they did that. that's great. things sure have changed since mine where born 32 years ago. will check with coworkers to see if they have anything for her.

my oldest was 10 weeks early, weighed a whopping 3#8oz. Spent his first 33 days in NICU....so I understand what these folks may be going through. For our group, I would politely suggest we focus on the "consumables"....wipes, diapers, bottles/nipples/formula, etc. rather than clothes. Clothes are easy at this stage. The consumables are what will overwhelm these guys...not even the $$, but having to simply go get it can be a pain.

Got it!

I will collect until around 5:30 tonight and then hit the store.

Since we have collected a good amount so far I may have to get some things and consolidate the rest into a gift card. Depends on how large a container I can ship effectively.
