Thanks for that link. In following the links and reading the articles, it seems to preform as advertised, BUT, it is a labor intensive for the amount of ammo you can reload. Reloading a .22lr that has been mashed on the rim makes me a bit leery. Also, repurposing cap gun powder or scraping match heads for a primer makes me think that you could end up with a fair amount of variability. Still, these are only technical and mental hurdles. I know I've got some old formulary books from the 1800's with match head mixes in them. It is crazy sensitive, but........ Might be a nice thing to play with.

I'd rather have a .22 caliber muzzleloader

I sold all my .22lr's. I can reload a .32ACP all most as cheap as you can buy .22's. I bought a .32 sleeve for a 12ga and now I have a .32 rifle.

Let me know when someone makes an AR in .32 ACP. Otherwise I'll keep buying 22lr at $0.09 cents each or less.

Didn't mean to highjack this thread with my .32 nonsense, just opening up other, simpler options.

Personally, I don't care for AR's but I know lot of others do. I wish Marlin would make an 1894 in .327. Shoot, I wish anybody would make a long gun in .327!!

Ok, I'm done. Go on with you .22 thread now.

Reloading 22lr makes as much sense as recycling toilet paper

You can load 110gr soft points with blackhorn 209 in a .30-06 at 1600 fps if I really get desperate for plinking or small game ammo

OR, you can use the 115gr cast I mentioned for 1/3 the cost, a light charge of Unique or Bullseye for 1/5 the cost, slow it down below the speed of sound so there's no sonic boom, no need for ear protection and still plenty of "power" for small game!!

But you do what you want and others will do likewise.;)

just to further derail this thread, how does a sleeved smoothbore shotgun fare in the accuracy department? What I've gathered is that you basically get pistol accuracy from a shotgun sized package. Plus those sleeves aren't cheap either.

It's have a scope base mounted right now. When I get it back, if it's worth posting, I'll let you know how it does. I don't expect it to be a target rifle but if it shoots minute of squirrel I'll be happy.
