we're getting ready to start writing some reviews, I'm trying to see if anyone reads this post (please reply) and comment whether you think this is a good area for traffic, or if we should break reviews out for their own section.

Thanks!

Guns and gear. We have some writing/ photo talent on the site, and we have guns and gear on the way for review work. Training reviews/ classes/ matches, etc, are all fair game. I'm just trying to test the waters for the best place on the site for the articles to be presented.

Subforum in firearm related section news section, or it's own forum.

Sometimes the sub-forum threads get buried and goes unnoticed within the section. I think for maximum exposure, I would give it it's own section and place it directly under or above, Firearms related news & Politics (our busiest section). I imagine a lot of people scroll from the main Paige to the Firearms related news and Politics , and with the review section next to it, they would be almost assured to see the new review section.

Just my Thoughts

I'd love to see some reviews and maybe even write one or two if they get OK'd. I can get a semi-pro photographer friend to help with pictures .

I've always wanted to do a clinical review of my WAR adjustable receiver... There are a couple out there but this is a pretty sought after thing and I always see questions about it on NFA forums. Also just saw a guy in PSA trying to get one and they were out (like most retailers)

of course we'd love for the members to kick in reviews also.

How do you plan on handling negative reviews pointed at sponsors should they occur?
If someone send us a gun to review, and its a jam-o-matic, or has other issues, we will treat it like a (normal) customer would, and we'd give the manufacturer a chance to fix the issue and carry on afterwards. This subforum has been alive since the CSF days, it just hasn't been getting much use. We owe it to the folks to generate some meaningful content, so we'll give it a go.

We have been given the option to try out some stuff, and it is relevant for the site, so we will do the best job we can. We'll be as impartial as we can and try to give pros/ cons of the items we try out.

I made this section its own forum under firearms news, so it should get more eyes on it now.

My preference would be for it to have its' own section, not necessarily under firearms. I have acquired a few items (boots, helmet, bag, etc) for this trip that I will be reviewing and would be glad to share those reviews if there is any interest.

and if anyone wants to see something reviewed, let us know and we'll do our best.

At the moment on the deck:

-Budget ARs reviewed
-"Baby AR" training rifles (.22)
-multiple 1911s in the works

who knows what we're going to end up with after SHOT
I don't know beans about AR's. But, I think I want one. So, bring on the "-Budget ARs reviewed".

I think it should be on the front page with catagories.

I also think any article should follow a format set in stone by the Csc staff and approved before publishing. Not for content but quality.

Such as word count, number of pictures, round count, total time of review and so on.
