Looks like a lot of plastic in that rifle. That 22 will be a good plinker for folks who own SR series pistols.

I don't care...I am a BIG ruger fan, and I definitely see an SR22 in my future!! Now if they would give the SR9 the same agressive look....

I am still waiting on the SR9PRO....5" barrel...extended slide stop and safety....oversized mag release...flared magwell.....fiber optics front and rear....

Maybe an SR45 in the future? hmmm??? SR357??? SR380??? I think the SR22 would be a good prdecessor for an SR380...that would REALLY be Walther-ish, wouldn't it?

 

The rifle reminds me a lot of the Thompson Icon.

 

Sweet, Ruger now has copies of the Walther P22 and the Savage Axis rifle. You have to give Ruger credit though, they did beat Savage to the punch by putting an accu-trigger on their version of the Axis! :lol:

On the one hand, I give Ruger credit for coming out with new guns almost every month it seems.
On the other hand, it'd be nice if just a couple of them would be of original design.

 

I LOVE Rugers , own 8 of em'...but dammit I wish they would focus on producing guns the ALREADY have in their line-up .

I mean really, in just the last 6 months we have seen the LCR-22 , SP101 22LR, Single 10, 77/357 ,the SR40c ,etc...Plus new mags for the 10/22 , deals with lasermax on LCP and LC9 and on and on. Now the SR22 Pistol and the Ruger American Rifle.

In the meantime, people are lined up to buy SR1911's and they are hard to find as a hooker in church.

I am no Ruger basher, but honest to goodness,I wish they would just BUILD and SHIP things and stop announcing new guns they won't make enough of !

 

If the SR22 is made BY ruger and not farmed out like the other 3 pistol model .22s on the market are (P22, M&P22 and Mosquito), I will buy one in a heartbeat!!!

 

If the pistol is as good as the mark series and easier to clean I'm in.

 

Oh and the rifle, MSRP of $449... I will buy at least one!

I suspect that it will not be long before a threaded barrel is available.

+1 on this. Supposedly SR1911 production is gonna ramp up this month. Fingers crossed...

 

I may be interested in the rifle. Wonder if it will come in under MSRP?
