I want to mount a scope i have lying around on my marlin model 60 once I'm done cleaning it up. I noticed when test fitting the scope, that the rail is a lot narrower than a "standard" rail. With that being said, how do I mount one?

Ok. I did some googling, but couldn't find what type of rings I needed. I did find some pointers to combat the scope walk.. Must be from all of the hardcore recoil..
i have an old tasco on my model 60 and it works just fine. it came like that when i got it from my grandpa. you can get a tasco with the 3/8 rings for around $20. or just find some rings for your scope you have now. either way you might pay around $20.
Check over at Opticsplanet (among others) for a Leapers 1 piece mount. You will need to size it for tube diameter and height above the barrel (for exit lens). They come in low medium or high if I remember correctly. Assemble it with Blue Loctite when you are sure of location. Solid, will not walk.
