It seems like I have rediscovered shooting my 22s. The Ruger Rimfire Series has sparked my interest and has got me shooting more. http://www.ruger.com/micros/rugerRimfire/index.html . Since I needed to borrow a Ruger GP100 and our own rantingredneck was kind enough to let me use his, I thought we'd just make a morning of it. So we shot some 22s. We used steel plates, a timer and a little imagination (see Ruger link). I'm in love with shooting all over again.

"Double Tap" Just about every Ruger Match will have this one. Two on the left plate, two on the right plate, one on the stop plate. The goal is to do it in under one second. It's not as easy as you'd think. Nationally there are 6 people in the "one second club"

Yeah, our times on that one were running in the low 2.xx's for the most part. Ken (the older guy in the photos) had one run in the 1.8x range with his tricked out Buckmark.

Dale, that was a blast. I'm up for a repeat whenever you guys will have me. Seriously considering getting into the matches up at Caswell Ranch. May need a racier rifle to get into it heavily. I was shooting a stock Marlin 75 with a 9 shot tubular mag and a 1.25-4x32 Bushnell Trophy shotgun scope. It did well, but I'm looking for an excuse to buy an SR-22 .

love shooting .22lrs....it's ALL i have now since i sold all my other guns. shot today and shot ragged hole at 25yds, didn't miss a single 12 gauge shell at 25yds, 1" groups at 50 yds, 5" steel plate every shot at 100yds, and a 12" saw blade every shot at 200yds....shot ALL day and maybe spent $20!

Ruger Rimfire this Saturday at Caswell Ranch. We hold Rimfire matches the 1st and 2nd Saturday of every month, start time is 12 noon.

Ruger Rimfire Series U.S. East Coast Championship is also at Caswell Ranch July 24th and 25th. Info go to www.caswellranch.com

We have 6 Ruger rifles, 4 pistols, Nordic has given us a special rifle 1 of only six made along with uppers and stock kits (SR-22), plus stuff from Hogue and Brownells all will be given away by random draw at the match.

Regards,
Dean

This weekend's Rimfire match was my first one in a while, and I had forgotten how much fun it was. I've been shooting it pistol only, but I'm going to have to get a rifle. I'd recommend it to anyone...

RR, Caswell Ranch is maybe 30 minutes from Burlington, out on 86. Well worth a visit.

I didn't know you could shoot just either or, that makes it more interesting. I need to get a mag-fed rifle if I'm going to start doing this with a rifle. I got a feeling once I start it'll be quite addictive.

I work in Burlington but live in the southern end of the county so it's realistically almost an hour from home, but still doable. I've got a membership at Buckhorn, but would make the trip up to Caswell for rimfire matches.

Can't do this Saturday, but if all goes according to plan I'll attend one in August.
