They removed the damn video.

But I completely agree with the OP. Situational Awareness is something I see less and less anymore from the Sheeple. I am not sure the reason for this, but I think part of it is the wrapped up in ones self "Its all about me" mentality of most. Coupled with a technology age where they spend more time buried in computer devices than paying attention to whats going on.

I think you are completely correct there. It's gotten to the point I point things out to my wife when we are out.

"look at this guy, he don't even see blah blah blah" or "this idiot doesn't even know what's going on around him"

It's pretty bad out there. I'm not always the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do make a continuous effort.

^^^Yeah, there are times when I see some idiot on a plane, train or walking down the street with I-pod headphones in and I have crazy thoughts. There is a small evil little man inside of me that just wants to hit them with a bat. Then wait till they wake up and scream, "This wouldn't have happened to you if you paid any attention at all to what is going on around you. Next time, it will be worse". And then I roshambo them for their I-pod and skip off down the street to the next mindless idiot.

We all have lapses of alertness but it should not be a habit. I kick myself every time I let it happen. Several yrs back a gent was killed on the end of the Badin Lake pier-supposedly it was a mistaken identity hit. Hard to maintain in situations like that but a picnic bucket would have easily concealed things. Several of my "range bags" are flip top picnic boxes. They do not look threatening and I hope not a high theft item. Ever seen anyone steal a small picnic cooler?

Reminds me of the idiot in some mall a while back that was texting and walked straight into a water fountain. I believe she ended up suing the mall if I'm not mistaken.
She did...because mall secuirty put the video on YouTube so she could be made fun of instead of trying to help her and see if she was OK and uninjured.

In my mind, at 49 years old, you should have learned the importance of watching where you're walking instead of keeping your face glued to a handheld electronic device. Hours after she cried about her mistreatment at the hands of mall security, she was in court answering 5 felony larceny counts.
