OSUT = One Station Unit Training. "Basic Training On Steroids" where they combine Basic Training with "Tech School"/MOS Training.

(MOS = Military Occupational Speciality...i.e. your job)

I was Infantry so we had OSUT instead of regular Basic Training.

I just can't imagine what the surviving Private is thinking. Fresh out of boot and a guy next to him gets shot dead in the streets of Arkansas. This will either mess him up bad or give him a strong resolve when he gets to Afghanistan or Iraq. I hope it's the latter otherwise he'll be an Entry Level Separation real fast and get zero Veterans Administration assistance in life.

At Hood and Benning there was always a Soldier getting killed for one thing or another. Drunk Driving, training mishap, freak accident... It sucked and we all had a big Safety Briefing about what happened but we got over it and continued mission. But the way this Soldier died is something new and especially disturbing.

 

Both murderers are terrorists by the criteria set by our government. Put 'em both in the same cell and treat them the same.

Too bad FOX opted to run a story about Newt instead of the interview with the surviving recruiter like the rest of the MSM did.

Desertion during war-time also merited summary execution. We don't do that kind of thing anymore.

I wonder if they will charge the poor, misunderstood, religiously persecuted, terrrible childhood, ghetto living, real victim with a hate crime! I would suggest beheading him! That would fit his new beliefs!!! and they say the Muslims really don't wish to kill us christians. Based on his actions, I guess Christian Americans should go through the neighbor and kill Muslims based on their religious beliefs??? If you're looking at it from a religious standpoint: Your kind has perpetrated the exact same kinds of atrocities against his kind. Both sides are responsible for where we all stand today. Perhaps a third party should come up with a final solution to this two-party problem.
