Bernie is tapped for the job and takes the election. Having not been subjected to the rigors of campaigning he'll look a peach to all liberals and a great many in the middle.
Don't give up on them, having rich neighbors with similar interests has lots of benefits. Take them shooting, work on politics later. It has been in my mind for a while, but last night pretty much clarified to me that I first need to associate with a different group of people. I'll still be the good tool loaning neighbor, but I need to break away from the group socially. Outside of geography we have little in common. I also think I need a long term plan to fix that geography issue too. But with kids in school moving is tough. But if the opportunity arises a more rural ***** of land is in my future. Closer tot he mountains if at all possible.
Actually it is more plausible than most. Had the courts not settled the issue the previous time the election was contested, the Speaker of the House would have become President.Well...it's an interesting fantasy scenario, at any rate. I don't see it as being plausible in any realistic fashion.
Possession is nine tenths and all that... act first, determine Constitutionality later (hey, it's worked for every gun control measure that I can recall - then when it's found unconstitutional, just slightly rewrite, rinse and repeat)One interesting and plausible scenario.... Clinton wins the election, but due to the mounting amount of evidence of voter fraud, the election is contested. On Jan 20th, 2017 if the election is still contested, Paul Ryan becomes President.
Now, if the Republicans were smart, as soon as Ryan said "I do" his first act would be to nominate a Supreme Court Justice and should the Republicans still hold the majority in the Senate, quickest confirmation in US History.
There is no "possession" until the swearing in and the Presidential Succession Act is quite clear on who becomes President.Possession is nine tenths and all that... act first, determine Constitutionality later (hey, it's worked for every gun control measure that I can recall - then when it's found unconstitutional, just slightly rewrite, rinse and repeat)
It worked for all of the unconstitutional BS that Lincoln did.Possession is nine tenths and all that... act first, determine Constitutionality later (hey, it's worked for every gun control measure that I can recall - then when it's found unconstitutional, just slightly rewrite, rinse and repeat)
True, but a confirmed and sworn justice is far more difficult boat to turn around than waiting to figure out who makes the call. There is no "possession" until the swearing in and the Presidential Succession Act is quite clear on who becomes President.
