So what'd you get at the Raleigh gun show today?

This was one of my more fruitful visits to a gunshow. Picked up a bunch of reloading stuff, small pistol and large rifle primers, and 9mm and 40S&W Rainer plated HPs. I was surprised that the HPs were just a little more than the FMJs. I also got an electronic reloading scale, a powder trickler, some rifle powder, and some rifle cartridge boxes to hold my reloads. I already had those for pistol rounds.

The most interesting thing I found was at one of those tables along the left wall that had odds and ends. They had devices that were designed to set off a shotgun primer via a trip wire. How cool is that? Just the thing for perimeter alarms, so I bought a few. They were $5 and came with 5 primers each. They also had bags of thermite, lol. I love America!

And then just before I left I came across a LEO trade in Gen 3 G22 with 3 std cap mags for what I thought was a good price. I've got a Mech Tech upper in 40 cal with a dedicated Glock lower so this will be the perfect companion. Now I'll be able to swap mags between pistol and carbine. A 40S&W carbine is nothing to sneeze at: > 800ft/lbs muzzle energy with 135gr Corbon. That's more than the same bullet in 10mm out of a 5" handgun barrel.

I've had LEO trade in G22s before and they all had varying amounts of holster wear, but all were shot little as evidenced by little wear on the internal parts. This one however had grip tape on it and that should have clued me in that this guy was a shooter. Once I got it home and cut the cable tie off of it I noticed the damn thing rattles when you shake it. Not a lot, but the slide does move side to side a bit and the barrel lockup is loose. The barrel has so much wear that I thought someone had taken steel wool to the damn thing, hardly any of the original finish left. Will Glock refurb these things for a reasonable price? It's really not that bad but I doubt it's bench rest accuracy would impress anyone.

All in all though I don't think I did too bad, except for spending so much time there I didn't get to hunt this afternoon like I had planned. I think I'm going to have to skip the next show or two so my gun budget can catch up, lol.

Picked up a new enfield #4Mk2 55 dated with the bayo, 350$ OTD. Gun has never been fired. This is the Blond wood gun.
I think that was a good find.
Looking a Mint M38 nagant all matching thing 45 dated for about 200$ I may get Sunday.
Several deals if you look but also a lot of $$$ crap worth $ and a waste of time with some just talking but not wanting to spend $$$ or make deals.

That is a nice find on the Enfield. I love those blonde stocks.

Makes #4 in my collection of that model and blond wood.
Have on Savage, Longbranch, US property, several others... Gun I love but can not stand if you know what I'm saying is the #5, happened on several of them, but never bring them out.
They are great guns, they are the guns that really got me into shoot bolt surplus guns some 30 years back.

I was able to make it this afternoon. Overall prices were on par with what I've seen at other gun shows recently. Plenty of overpriced stuff(always is) but there were some deals if you looked. Didn't pick up anything too exciting. I grabbed a spam can of 7.62x54 for $95, I was starting to get low. From what I saw ammo prices seemed to be pretty close to pre-panic levels with the exception of .22LR which was priced too high for me. It was overpriced but at least it was there which is more than I say from a show I was at 6 months ago.

Didn't get to go nor will I be able to tomorrow probably! Anyone see good prices? and as far as the OP glock has a lifetime warrany maybe send it in with your problems noted they should fix or maybe put some newer parts in the gun.
Glocks do not have a lifetime warranty, they have a one year warranty. You can send the gun in for refurbishment for something like $55 and they will replace everything but the frame, barrel, and slide.

Despite the obvious wear on that particular gun, I would do nothing more than put new springs in it to be safe. Recoil spring, slide lock spring, and trigger spring. I bet it shoots as well as any other Glock.

You had a better day at the gun show than I had. Parking and traffic was a pain because of the NC State football game. I ended up buying an AR pistol gas tube and an AR dust cover. I could not find the powder I was looking for - Win 231. Primers were expensive and the table that had better prices did not have small pistol primers. I almost bought a Zip 22LR gun for $200 (a different vendor had the same Zip gun for $350) but decided that it is just a toy with no real use to me. The prices on the guns were high, especially anything with AK. I looked at a Saiga 12 until the guy told me it was $1200. I saw a Keltec KSG for $2200 and another vendor had the KSG for $1300. Ed's had the Ruger 1911 for $599 which seemed like a good price. (I paid more than that for my Ruger 1911 when they first came out). One vendor was selling a box of 500 22LR's for $60.

I saw a bunch of Draco AKs for $800. Wish I had sold mine for that!

Some vendors were priced reasonably while others had ridiculous prices, like they missed a price change memo or something.
There were all in it together during the panic buying. But now that it is catch as catch can, they are at odds again.

That game was one reason to avoid this time around for me. Also had too much other stuff to do :) How were the crowds and line?
The show was fairly crowded. It seemed to me there was a lot of looking around rather than buying. The line to get in at 9AM wasn't too long- 20 minutes or so to get in, I have seen much longer lines. I bought my ticket online so I avoided the waiting to get in line (I haven't figured out how to use the dollar discount online and now they charge you an extra $1.26 for an online ticket).
