I bought the xd9sc from another forum member and he had already done the grip of the gun. I whipped out the soldering iron last night and practiced a little on the airsoft 1911 I bought for the kids. Once I got the heat and depth good, I moved to the Pearce extension on the small mag. I'm a little on the fence about it, but its pretty cool. And my pinky won't be slipping anymore. Next is the front of the trigger guard. Feedback welcome, as I may start doing this for friends if they desire it. I've had a few people ask if I could do it, but I turned them down until I get some practice. I need a couple junk polymer lowers or guns to practice on.

Well, I got froggy and went to town the other night. For once, an experiment turned out to my liking.

My question is, would I need an ffl to do this for others? I've had quite a few folks see what I've done besides what was done before I got the gun.

Could you do that on other guns? Do you have an office that one could walk in and speak to someone ftf to explain what I'd want/need?
