At least your mom didn't have a clapped out sewing machine and consider herself a seamstress who could "make one just as good" like my mom!

Kmart was too highbrow for my mom! She was horribly cheap, couldn't sew for sh&t, and was the worst cook in history. The only thing that outweighed her failures, was her sensitivity to you bringing them to her attention......
No wonder dad bailed out early.
Oh my mom was the churches official "seamstress" she made all the proportionately challenged girls their prom dresses. As sweet as this was and my mother was loved by people near and far. The flood of plain large dresses year after year was a little odd. I really miss my mom more than just about anything, but I never enjoyed all the homemade goodies. I will say that Halloween was cool cause she could do crazy stuff.

I don't recommend any of those tactical looking jackets for edc, If you need a jacket with more pockets many stores have jackets that have a lot of pockets from regular department stores. I picked up a good one the mall and it has 4 pockets on the outside and 2 pockets inside. More importantly it keeps me warm in inclement weather and doesn't make me look like I've got a gun. You wanna blend in not stand out. I seen a guy yesterday at the state fair wearing a Arc'teryx Cap and jacket with a molle pack walking around with 2 german shepherds. This is not the look you want if your trying to blend in.

While I am generally the one supporting the "grey man" look, I do think that it may be pushing it a bit here. Before I got into shooting I worked with a guy who wore an Arc'teryx jacket and I never once questioned whether he had a gun or not. I just thought it was some fancy brand id never heard of.

On top of that, if you are using the jacket for carrying a firearm and spare magazines I feel that using a tool designed for the job trumps going with a jacket that isn't designed for the task. After all, the #1 priority when carrying a firearm is making sure it is secure. That's why we spend so much money on quality holsters.

Also, some of the recommendations are for Carhart brand jackets. Most people who see Carhart aren't going to think "gun", they will think "this guy could probably drive a tractor.

If you have a brand of jacket you could link here that provides the same level of utility AND can secure the firearm as well as those designed to do so please do.

I am looking for a jacket that is fashionable. I still like to try and look good while walking out of the house... So I try to find Jackets that I think look cool, look good on me, and provide an easy way for me to conceal.
I have a Matix jacket now that I have had for 4-5 years and I absolutely love it. It keeps me warm, looks good, and allows me to conceal a larger weapon. but I need a jacket that is not so heavy.... I looked around REI and they have a couple that are really nice...but some of these jackets are $300+
