While a popular thing to voice in some circles, entirely BS. The rate at which athletes in those two leagues are charged or convicted of crimes is actually LOWER than the general population. Of course that just addresses the "convicted felons" nonsense, not sure what you consider to be a "thug".

Exactly. Spent my morning watching Thomas Davis work with kids aged 6-14 at his FREE two day football camp here. This man was out there moving from drill station to drill station having genuine interactions with those kids. When it was time to do the required press thing, as always he was humble and unassuming. Never fails that folks who complain about the media and their ways always seem to get caught up in the handful of examples they present as being representative of the whole.

As usual the press drives the story and the masses go along. A pro athlete driving his kids to school or running a camp in the off season doesn't get ratings. Unless he has a hot, slutty wife that wants publicity.

I could care less about the NBA. The game of basketball holds no interest for me. Who played in the finals this year? I couldn't name the teams if stuck a gun to my head. Same goes college hoops too.

I totally agree. It certainly didn't devastate me because I couldn't care less about basketball. In fact, it is an annoyance when a televised game runs too long and screws up the schedule of subsequent shows.

I googled WNBA looking for the rules and ran across some pictures...NOPE. I can not prove that there aren't any men playing in the WNBA currently. lol.
