Anyone know where I can buy this locally? I can order it online if necessary from amazon.

Best Buy had Dynex last time I was there. I always use Arctic Silver. Any local PC repair place should have some.

BestBuy, radio shack, office depot, office max, any of them will have it. That's thermal transfer paste, be sure you're not needing thermal isolating paste, that's a completely different animal and you'd need to get it from a mechanical supply store more than likely.
Yep just thermal paste. Sent my wife to pick it up at radio shack 3 bucks. It goes on the back of a piece that dissipates heat to the metal shell of a golf cart charger. They said to put it on it to keep it from over heating and burning out to quickly. The original on lasted at least 8 years and had it so it sure won't hurt.

Take a squeegee (like a piece of fiberglass or aluminum sheet or glass...something with a stiff, straight edge) and squeegee a VERY thin layer on BOTH surfaces you are going to mate together, to get the best heat transfer. These two items are clamped/screwed together, right?

(This stuff fills the air gaps in the interface between two rough surfaces; it conducts heat poorly, but MUCH better than air. For best results, the thermal grease needs to be squeegeed onto both surfaces so that the rough parts on BOTH sides are filled in.)

The thinner the layer and the more thoroughly the bumps are filled in, the lower the thermal resistance and the longer your solid-state baby will last...
