Looks like the libs are pissed because of the gun period and the "conservatives" are pissed because it's associating a gun with Christmas.

And there are the "silencers are illegal" comments as well on that guys post, an SC Lawyer from NJ

No one commenting realized both are SC companies (Innovative Arms and FN) on the billboard

...That being said, I don't have a problem with the billboard. After all, Christmas probably wasn't silent...with a baby crying and all those animals making noises. ;)
That's why I always call the early 4:00PM Christmas Eve service with all the families and squawking kids at our church the "barnyard service".
Christmas eve wouldn't be the same without them. ;)

Regarding the Facebook comments...that much hand wringing by people claiming to be gun owners is very disappointing. There is still a substantial amount of ignorance about suppressors among gun owners. Many of them are saying they don't see any reason to own a suppressor.

Looks like we have our work cut out for us to educate our friends and family that don't quite "get it" yet.

I just do not understand how anyone could be upset about this except the anti gun crowd.

If you're upset on a religious level and you give gifts and let your kids get gifts from Santa then you are an idiot in your hypocrisy.

The giving of gifts and the institution of Santa is Pagan. The merging of the 2 was done by the church.

How is this any worse than lingerie models in Santa hats? Or any advertisement for anything during the Christmas season to commercialize and capitalize on the birth of Christ?

Did he piss his pants when they ran ads for the movie silent night deadly night? 1, 2, and 3?

Where is the outrage over this years christmas horror Krumpus?

It's an ad. And a clever one at that IMO. Who the hell cares?

Actually Santa Claus derived from the Dutch, Sinterklaas, whose name is a dialectal pronunciation of Saint Nicholas, the historical Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra. Christian origins ;) , with some pagan traditions possibly handed down as Christianity spread to Germanic areas. As far as gifts, the three wise men brought gifts, and we see the same in winter pagan festivals, so again a combination of both Christianity and European ancestorial / pagan tradition. The image we have of Santa came from Thomas Nasts illustration in A Visit From Old Saint Nicholas in the 1820's.

A far as the add, I certainly don't think it is offensive from a religious standpoint. Nothing making fun of tradition or religion, not offensive to Christians imo, plus a gun is a darn good and useful gift.
Any decent gun add should offend anti-gunners or possibly the "I support the Second Amendment But" crowd. I personally like it. Creative.
