I just try to think about if it would be better having something that fits flush and doesn't stick out, less power, only uses 1 battery, weighs less vs. something that sticks out more, more power, 2 batteries. I like the length of the inforce APL, but of course, Im not putting out that kind of money for a light. Do they both sit pretty far back against the trigger guard?
No offense brother but you're over-thinking it.
It's a light. A bright, dependable light. I have one with no regrets. I've ran it on my 870, ar15, glock, colt rail gin, springfield champion operator and a beretta m9a1. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The ONLY issue that has cropped up has been surface rust on the set screw. If I'd kept it in the safe and never ever used it, that probably wouldn't have happened.
Would I rather have a surefire x300? Hell yeah. But I have other hobbies and a child so I cut corners when I can do so within reason. Buy it, go ahead and order a box of 20 surefire branded batteries at ridiculously low prices drop on ebay drop-shipped from who knows where and you've got a dependable, relatively low cost solution. When you need batteries, that $12 box of batteries may/may not be here by then.
That tlr1 hl looks neat, I was blisfully unaware since my tlr1s seems to not want to die. How's that battery life on that thing? And is it "too bright?" I know my tlr1 is borderline too bright when you flash a white or light colored wall indoors at close range.
