The brunt of the storm missed me by less than two statute miles. We got a little wind and rain...11 hours in the dark...and not much more. Many others in Central Davidson weren't so lucky. Homes were completely demolished and one fatality has been reported. A dozen or more have been transported to Baptist Hospital's trauma unit. The storm was fast-moving, and did its work in less than 15 minutes before moving into Randolph County. A very bad event.

It ripped through Ralph's area...Cocked and Locked...and as soon as I get the dogs tended to, I'm headed over there to check on him if I can get into the area. Will advise as soon as I know more.

I'm right next door in Davie, if anyone needs a generator i have one they can borrow and i can deliver this afternoon after i get off of work.

I was stuck on 64 and 109 last night for about an hour due to trees being down. The gas station the has its pumps and awning layed over, and looks like two buildings are MIA on the other side of 109.

It always makes for an interesting evening to arrive home to the sound of tornado sirens going off....at least last night I assumed they were tornado sirens. We also live within 5 miles of Catawba Nuclear Station. Never know for sure which one the siren is for....

JJ, I heard Rock Hill this morning and almost called you at "o'dark thirty" to make sure you were ok....

PLEASE let us know what you find out about C & L when you check on him....

Ralph is alive and well and kicked back with a cuppa Joe and Jessie, his pretty Lab girl at his feet. A house less than a quarter-mile from his is totaled...and I mean about all that can be done is to bulldoze it and start over.
