I have power... that's all that really matters...

Seriously though, no idea. Most of Cary, Apex along 64 was blacked out last night. That's as close as I got that way. Everything around my house is out but my neighborhood is on thankfully. Inlaws are stuck at the outer banks. Can't get to their vehicles due to the water. A section of 40 is shut down in Garner too. It's bad out there.

I've got so much power I don't know what to do with myself.

In tribute to those of you without power I have been turning on my heat and my AC in alternating cycles to warm and cool the house.

I have the microwave running to preheat some water to put on the stove.

I have all of the lights in my house on, my computer is playing porn while I surf Csc on the iPad (which has a full battery but it's plugged in anyway).

BRB the toaster just popped up some strudel and my lava lamp is in full disco mode.

My brother Mark Brooks is all over the coast with his crews trying to restore power in the outage areas. Talked to him last night and he said they hope to be heading home by the end of the week. Say a prayer for him , they go stuck last night and had to sleep in their trucks on some high ground because some of the roads out were impassable. Thanks Tommy

...If you have to go without power this is the weather for it!
Ain't it the truth. When Fran came through 20 years ago my wife was nine months pregnant. It was hot and humid as heck after the storm in September and my neighbor ran a generator till midnight every night for days under our open window (because it was so hot).

He had a sewage pump to get his family poo to the main sewer line at the street since he was below grade, so he couldn't flush more than once without running the generator (according to him).

When mama ain't happy, nobody's happy, so we left town after four days.

power is out to my dad's farm between Carthage and Robins. Tree is down on the lines and the bridge in the middle of the flooded creek. Power co-op is gonna have to wait for the water to go down before fixing lines. Good thing he has a generator.
Don't know if town has power or not.
CF

PS Bryson City ain't even had rain nor wind.

Friends in Willow Springs were out Sat mid day till about 7 pm today. Some in the Bentwinds area of Fuquay are still out. My neighborhood was out twice for about 8 hours coming on the last time about 11:30 today. Didn't have to throw out any food etc. Prayers to those who have it much worse!
