Discussions are allowed here, and there are a lot of great discussions that go on here regularly.
However, there are rules, and if the rules aren't being followed, the discussions are cut short.
If you are finding yourself involved in a great number of discussions that get cut short, perhaps you should re-read the rules. If you don't think that you can participate in discussions within the rules, then this may not be the right forum for you.

The discussions are grouped according to certain criteria. If the discussion doesn't fit the criteria it is moved, altered or ended.

The discussions are also limited in scope and content. This is not a "free range" environment and is moderately regulated.

I do not like the narrow confines of what is allowed and what is not allowed but I abide by those regulations (more or less...) and I understand that, at any time, I can be forcibly removed from participation from this web forum by those in charge.

There's no point in whining about it but I do, at times, understand the basic frustration.

...in having a discussion board, if we're not allowed to have discussions?
Discussion is allowed and encouraged here but it seems like every post YOU make seems to provoke a pissing match with other members. That ends the discussion and thread.

it just seems that way seems to you. but, it takes at least 2 people to have that match. you call it a pissing match, I call it a discussion. if you don't want to discuss something, don't post.

Chief,

Because I was bored, I just went and looked at your posts.

You come across as combative in a lot of your posts. I am not saying that what you posted was WRONG, just that your "tone" tends to be abrasive. Debate and discussion do not mean being argumentative and abrasive. Maybe you should relax a bit, allow others to hold dissenting opinions without trying to correct them.

Just my $0.02

Let me be clear: I am not now, nor have I ever been, in whole or in part, associated with any Yankeedom nor Yankee-sympathizing.
haha. I've got a very good friend from CT. Though, I think he went to college in PA, who had a college friend who insisted that the best come-back to any insult was to simply say "your face" and then repeat the original insult...
