What's the difference between a BMW and a porcupine?

Well the prick is on the outside of the porcupine...

One of my favorite jokes of all time... but I sold out this week... I broke down and bought myself a beamer... Am I now a hypocrite and a prick?

nothing like a gleaming black german touring car. I got to drive my buddies twin turbo 650 last week. I layed a 10 on the dash and told him he could have it. as soon as he reached it, WRooommmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMM

I'm still laughing over that. My friend is Chinese, and he was hollering "NO CAN LEACH!!!!!!

No flaming, the guy is one of my best friends. He plays the same trick on anyone he can get in the car now.

I know, I'm still a kid at heart.

If your nice, I'll tell you about his first encounter with my 44 mag:w00t:

Enjoy it....they really are a "drivers car". Start saving up your money for maint on it though. BMW makes some of the most fun to drive cars available, however they suck when it comes to reliabilty and cost of ownership. I personally would never buy one, but I would lease one since they come with free maint and service for the lease term.

I've got an '06 Z4. This thing is an absolute ball to drive. Handles great, plenty of power, doesn't beat you up too bad on a long trip. However, this thing has been in and out of the shop more than any five cars I've owned combined! If it weren't for the free service/maintenance, I would have kicked this thing to the curb a long time ago. As an aside, Hendrick BMW in Charlotte has an awful service department.

After driving many BMW's I have come to the conclusion that I will never pay for one or purchase one. I drive a 2005 Z4 almost daily and absolutely loathe it. No power, horrible handling, gas pedal and brake pedal are horribly unresponsive, I could go on all day. The car has already had more things replaced on it than I have ever heard of on a new car. It is owned by a 20 year old girl and she drives it very easily and is very smooth.

It just can't compare to my 1996 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. You want a perfect car? Now that car is a perfect car. Manufactured in August, 1995. Has had absolutely no problems. Just rolled over 100,000 miles.

The BMW on the other hand, I can't begin to list how many things have broken in it with less than 60,000 miles.

Only problem w/ the TT 300z is I would end up paying more for it than I did the beamer... I love the Z cars, especially that body and the generation before... but finding one in good shape that somebody will part with is like finding ocean front property in arizona..

On another note any pics of that beauty MuShu?

I bought the car 3 years ago, with 64K miles on the clock, one original owner. I will go take a few pictures of it right now beside the 280. We (my mother and I) own three Z's. 1982 280ZX, 1996 300ZX Twin Turbo, and a 2007 NISMO 350Z (#298).

Pictures now. The car itself needs some body work here and there and I would like to perform some heavy upgrades on it in the future. As soon as I get a few grand saved up it is getting a new paintjob, new wheels, new hood, and a few other problem areas that need addressing after nearly 15 years.

Awesome MuShu, but that 280 is stealing the show, she's a beauty... I've done nothing but sports cars in the past but now I'm getting older and having knee issues so I decided to loose the clutch... I wasnt really after power w/ the 325, but honestly the handling is right there where my WRX was, course I haven't played without traction control yet.. I've still got a couple of toys at the parents to play with when I wanna go fast too.

Kudos on the Z's though man those things are amazing cars... I always wanted one when I was growing up but they were just too darned expensive for me at the time...

Thank you sir. Being 21 years old I am still able to do quite a bit of shifting.

Are you serious about the handling being right near the Impreza? Which model/trim did you have? I have driven 2 WRX's, one was a 2 door turbo and the other was an STi. Purely amazing vehicles. I am glad you are happy with the BMW, just hope everything on it doesn't break.

haha don't sir me... i'm still only 27... just my knee has been through hell.. I had a standard 4 door wrx 04 model. I loved her, but she was starting to give the tell-tale signs of turbo failure and had to go before it happened... I'll pick another one up one day I'm sure. I'd say on the roads I've played on so far though the 325 has kept up w/ the wrx... though keep in mind I did opt for the awd 325 as well... I couldn't live without it... you know for those 2 days a decade we have ice here in eastern NC

2 Days of ice a year. I like that. Tried to move the 300 in the snow. That didn't work at all. Turbo failure is definitely not cool at all. Don't have to worry about that in the 325, right? Not the twin turbo model. Or am I mistaken.
Right... the new 335i's are twin turbo though... I'm not sure about the turbo system yet on em... I tend to only trust turbos to subaru, nissan and saab
