From my Dad's collection: Webley Metropolitan Police revolver; cal. .450; Top strap marked "P. Webley & Son, London & Birmingham"; left side of the frame is marked "450" just about the cut in the frame with "Police" above "Webley" above two handcuffed hands with "M.P." below and "1470" below that. Right side of the frame is marked 88xxx at the bottom, which I assume is the serial number. Cosmoline or grease has the cylinder bound up but I can move the hammer so I think all would be well with a good cleaning.
