I am going back to Community Collage and I am looking for some used books. I would like to keep my dollars in NC.

rent!

CampusBookRentals.com
Chegg.com

I save a ton of $$ this way

FYI...most of the time, I can rent the book for a semester, and then if I want to keep it I buy it off the rental and my total investment is less than buying at the beginning.

i can usually buy textbooks used off of amazon cheaper than i can rent them.
yep

then you can sell them to ed mckays or the like and make some of your money back (assuming you dont keep it, depending on the class you may or may not want to hang on to it for later)

only downside to amazon is 2 days wait. Last semester I had things due the second day of class (which was two days away, mwf classes) so it wasnt an option to wait, had to use the campus bookstore.
luckily you know what you have to have already - thats a good thing!
where do you go to school at? I know at my last comm college there were bulletin boards where people posted WTS and WTB ads, might be an option for you. Didnt notice one at UNC-G, but mightve overlooked it. Im sure there are things set up to assist with students buying and selling to other students

When I was in college I bought a lot of new, international editions (basically softback to save on shipping) for the price of used. However, I've been out of the college textbook game for a bit.
